Apparently there is a worldwide shortage of new cars which is driving used car prices up. Nearly new are at a premium.
It will Come back down but when that is who knows? Think I’ll Hold off a while longer as I’m not paying crazy prices like that (albeit lovely) PE on autotrader which as has been said is waaaay overpriced. Hope the seller got an increased price but knowing dealers probably not.

As always I am off pitch and behind the curve. If I’d have held onto my B9 RS5 a few more months maybe I would have got more for it.
Never know I guess but typical of me and cars.

Think I’ll get a valuation on my RS4 to see how that is doing. Am tempted to sell it having only done 2300 miles since I’ve had it……

Be interesting to see what you get offered. I used Motorway before but decided to go with WeBuySupercars as they gave the best offer and service I found.
Selling cars is a stressful period-especially with Audi RS cars I found.

I sold my RS4 to Fontain Motors a few years back. Very professional and great service. I can certainly recommend them if you looking for another valuation.
RS6 PE - Current
RS4 (B8.5) 2015 - Sold
A4 3.0 TDI Quattro BE Avant - Gone

Thread resurrection...

I'm almost at the point of being decided that I am on the hunt for a C7 to replace my B8.5 in the new year, I'll have had it two years.

Looking at prices though they do seem to be carrying some serious extra weight at the moment.

Example https://www.dnaautohausltd.co.uk/vehicl ... hire-u229/ this guy claims he just sold a stock riviera blue on for £60k too.

There are some lovely cars for sale https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-detail ... 1119478509 I can't help but feel like they're about 10k over though...

After much research across many platforms it’s apparent that the end of this current highly inflated prices for second hand cars isn’t going to stop for a good while yet. Certainly well into 2022 if not 2023. New variants like we are seeing are just going to keep popping up which impacts travel, business and trade.
At some point you either have to stop looking, be happy with what you have and be prepared for a potentially very very long wait or just bite the bullet and do it.
That was my choice and I don’t usually keep my cars for over 2 years. The other choices of E63S and M5 Competition were still too far beyond what I was prepared to pay and C7’s are really keeping their values. I’m mega happy with my new steer.
Find the right one that’s been well cared for and it ‘should’ hold its value well.

I’ve still got my B9 RS4 but have had some fantastic offers for it but still can’t push the button on a sale. Think I’ll wait until the new year and see what I’m offered then.
If I’m offered similar to now it will have been very cheap motoring for the last couple of years…….!

If I had held onto my B9 RS5 a few more months I would have made a profit as it was so well specc’d and low miles.
As always I’m behind the curve but still did ok selling it in March.
Quality cars with the right boxes ticked will hold their value well.
Not so good for buyers though.

I won’t actually make a profit as I bought new but it will be very cheap motoring for an 80k car after a couple of years!

Good news on your B9.

Based on what appears to be selling in the B8/.5 world I think I’m going to be getting my money back after 2 years of ownership which is frankly fantastic.

I’m just concerned about the value of what I purchase. Value of the C7 has historically been strong but I don’t want to buy in new year and lose £10k in a year, if I can help it…

This risk is unavoidable if purchasing used in the current market. It will reset at some point, that could be 2023.
