What’s the right procedure for reading codes?
What’s the right procedure for reading codes?
What’s the advice on reading fault codes with VCDS? Do I ignore anything that comes up first, then do a reset and read the codes again later, or are the initial codes valuable info?
Re: What’s the right procedure for reading codes?
Initial codes are always useful so record them before clearing.
Go through them and look for anything that correlates with known problems on the car or could be indicating a potential hidden issue.
That's assuming this is a car you own and have driven for a while...…
Basically use common sense.
Is the car new to you or VCDS?

Hi
Many thanks. I’ve had the car for 3 years and I’ve used VCDS to do a few tweaks before. Thanks for the advice
