Exclusive and Matt Colours

Post by RS4Guy... » Sun Dec 22, 2019 8:34 pm

Hi everyone

Is there a way of knowing how many C7s are in which exclusive and matt colours?

I am planning to be in the market for a C7 PE during 2020 and am wondering whether I should be waiting for certain excluive and matt colours (for example, merlin purple, ipanema brown, matt daytona grey) to come onto the market, or whether they are so few and far between that I would be waiting pointlessly.

It seems that there are many more continental (LHD) C7s are ordered in exclusive/matt colours than the UK when looking at Auto Gespot; not sure why.

One alternative would be to take a standard-paint car and get a matt wrap, but I daresay the result would not be a patch on factory matt paint. Does anyone have any experience or recommendations.

Thanks

Matt paint is notoriously hard to look after. If you were after a matt finish i'd recommend a matt wrap rather than matt paint.

Thanks Mike.

I am wondering if anyone has done a comparison between the look of OEM factory matt paint vs a matt wrap...

Those after market matt wraps that are designed to look like matt daytona grey, for example, look pretty good.

Not sure it’s ‘hard to look after’ just a total pain if you get little scratches etc as clearly can’t be polished out

However I have found ceramic coating does an incredibly good job in replacement of polishing
