Good service from Audi CS

Post by Daveperc » Mon Jan 21, 2019 3:28 pm

We often complain here about Audi Customer Service, so I'm happy to post a positive report.

Briefly, with my extended warranty about to expire I ran the Beast down to Audi Taunton for a service and once over by the legendary Stuart Hunt. He reported an intermittent fault on Lambda Probe bank 1 (G130), but the advice was to continue to monitor. Two weeks later (and just outside warranty period) I was on a long run down to S Wales and after a fuel stop, the EML came on. I duly took it to the loacal Audi dealership who ran diagnostics and confirmed the same fault and recommended replacement.

I contacted Audi Customer service (as the car was now just out of warranty), outlined the sequence of events, and after a short pause over Christmas, they came back with "It's out of warranty, but we will cover as goodwill". :beerchug:

Today car has been into Camberley Audi and all sorted in less than 4 hours, all at zero cost to me.

Well done Audi! :kissmyrings:

Thanks for the post, it’s always nice to hear a good news story.

Is Stuart a good Technician and would you recommend Taunton Audi? Maybe I should take my car there for services rather than Plymouth Audi.

Stuart was master tech at Camberley Audi when they had a superb reputation with people bring cars from all over SE England, especially for the early days of DRC woes on the C5. Together with service manager Rob Chorley they really knew how to deliver excellent service both technically (Stuart) and customer care (Rob).

Stuart lived local to me and used to do lots of the minor servicing for me.

About five years ago he moved down to Taunton area with his family so for me it was a no-brainer to take the car to him for its final check under warranty as I knew he wouldn't "hide" any grey areas, but would give me a thorough and well judged report (as he did).

So to answer your question - yes, get the car over to Taunton, and ask for it to be looked at by Stuart Hunt - it worked for me!

PS - hopefully they will soon have completed their refit - reception was in a freezing porta-cabin when we went there!!

Will do. Very reassuring to know there’s someone so good reasonably close.
