New exhaust + ECU stage 1

Post by ics3s » Mon Aug 27, 2018 9:36 am

Hello guys,

Pre-FL RS6 2014 with Dynamic Package is the car.

First:
I'm thinking about changing my OEM sport exhaust (the one with black tips).
One of my options is Milltek, is it worth it? Should i get res or non res? Also saw guys that just deleted the OEM res, what should i chose? Any one have a video comparison with stock vs Milltek exhaust?
Also found a seller for Armytrix.
Second: Is the stage one safe to do? Will i have any problems with the higher torque on the stock gearbox? Only one that does it in my area is MRC Tuning.

PS. I use the car daily in the city to go to work and go for drives outside of the city on the weekends.
PS2. Do i have to change the oil in the gearbox at a certain mileage?

Best regards,
Radu

I have a pre FL and the Milltek road plus I found res was not worth having but non res was just a bit too much. The road plus is perfect for me also an every day driver.
As for mapping up to you if there’s no warranty then go for it. If MRC is near you that’s great. They really know what they’re doing up there👍

I’ve had the same setup for over a year now 700 odd bhp and nearly 1100 Nm torque, courtesy of MRC’s magic screwdriver Image

Not missed a beat and happy.

From memory, the ‘road plus’ Milltek is a halfway house between the two other options, as skirs6 says, it’s perfect for what I want as a daily driver.

Isn't the ZF8 a maintenance free gearbox? I don't think Audi will service it for you but a specialist will.

That is why i am asking. Seems a bit clanky at lower speeds. Someone stated about a software update at the dealer, can i check the version using VCDS?

Mine was in at, Camberley Audi 2-3 weeks ago for its 40k service.
They changed oil in the (don’t quote me, I think) rear diff and an other. Said the gear box was sealed, but there were two other oil ‘compartments’ that needed an oil change at 40k miles.

From memory, it wasn’t that much money.

Differential & final drive oil I think? That’s what my old car was supposed to have done.
One of the reasons as to why my car was rejected was because of a gearbox issue, which was apparently fixed with a software update. Didn’t know it was a sealed unit, guess I’d have ended up with a new gearbox..

Will go to the dealer and ask about the software update for the gearbox. Any ideea when the update was released? Last year when i was at audi they made a software update for the engine or turbo cooling( or something like that).

Go for a Miltek none resonated version otherwise it’s a waste of money, car becomes a real monster)

Concerning Audi software they install it when they have any updates from Audi factory.
