Scored discs
Re: Scored discs
Quick update, after a comment I left on the facingbooks, Audi asked me to PM them, I'm awaiting a call back. I expect they'll give me a free R8 or something as an apology

Re: Scored discs
Folks,
out of interest what life are you seeing out of the rear pads/discs compared to the front (car has done 27k of mostly motorway)? Being told mine need replacing after taking the car in for brake judder. I pretty convinced the issue is from the front given these were replace 2.5k ago and seems a sweet spot in terms of life to play up.
cheers

Re: Scored discs
Rears seems to have a bit of a issue with pad deposits. Before getting them replaced, it's probably worth a visit to a pro cut disk skimmer to see if they're salvageable.
Re: Scored discs
Does anyone know what thickness the discs need to be at for Audi to say they need replacing? I'm 700 miles into my bed discs and I have a good old lip starting already! Be interesting to know how much I have lost and how much is left.
Re: Scored discs
Is the outer set of dimples not the indicator? When they are worn flat discs need replacing.
Re: Scored discs
Mine were not worn flat, I was told they needed replacing anyway.
Re: Scored discs
In fact I have just checked the Audi cam again, they are not even close to flat. Is there an Audi tech on here that can confirm worn dimples are the indicator of a worn out disc?
Re: Scored discs
The B7 discs state their minimum thickness ie disc is 34mm when new and needs replacing at 32mm. Don't the C7 discs have a similar min thickness written on them?
