RS6 PE Carbon Ceramic Wheel Fitment Question

Post by TRS6 » Tue Sep 05, 2017 4:24 am

Hi Guys,

So i've seen that TSW offer the Bathurst wheel in a 21x10.5 5x112 +32 Offset.

I am trying to determine whether the concave wheel spoke will clear the calipers on my car given the ceramics fitted.

I've found pics of them mounted on RS7's however with the absence of my brake setup.

http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthrea ... -295-25-21

Hoping to avoid the caliper clearance issues and not pouring funds down the drain as the supplier isnt local and wont accept a refund as they state they wont fit even though they are just going by their online wheel configurator.

Anyone have any info or advice here?

Regards

I was going to buy these wheels when I first bought my RS6 and found the same problem. One website changed their configurator after I called them but I still wasn't convinced they would fit. You could always buy one wheel to try out rather than buy all 4.that way it is less money wasted if they don't fit and maybe easier to sell to someone as a spare.

Agree with you Mike!

1 is less of a loss if a total no go than 4.

I am based in Australia and the option to on sell will be rather limiting.

Hopefully someone on here has gone down this path otherwise I may be the guinea pig

To be fair I don't think there is a big difference between steel and ceramic caliper sizes on the C7. The C6 ceramic Alcon calipers were huge compared to the C7 ceramic Brembo calipers.
But happy for you to send it to me afterwards if it doesn't fit so it doesn't take up room in your garage. I might even pay for postage.
not sure what your exchange rate or import duty is like but these wheels can be bought much cheaper direct from the US.

Haha all very true, however after having a set of $25k AUD ADV.1's sitting in the corner office for 9 months with many failed sales I am trying to avoid another ornamental alloy wheel in my life ;-)

I think i'll just pull the trigger on one and see how I end up.

Fingers crossed!

Had ceramics on our b8 rs4 brought some judd Alloys and had to shave the inside of the Alloys slightly but never had a problem after I suspect as long as there 21" should be fine had some rohanas on our rs6 c7 that had ceramics didn't have a problem

Thanks but certainly not willing to entertain changing the structural integrity of the wheel in any way by machining.. I also know that not all 21" are the same both in design and fitment.

Hence the questions.

In summary i think it'll be a case of trial and error.

Maybe not, but how would you explain to your insurer if you have an accident? Worst still you could find yourself liable if there's a third party claim.
