Yep, and its a shame the C7 is completely gutless and cannot pull the skin off a rice pudding!!
A Golf R would take one out..
Most Golf R drivers would believe that....ImageImage

APR quote 0-60 3.78 and 1/4 mile at 11.9 with just a stage 1 map.
Which is pretty much the time for a standard C7.. - coz they blow up after a stage 1 ;)

1/4m for a stock 560hp RS6 is 11.3-11.4, Stage 1 around 10.8-10.9 and Stage 2 10.5-10.6

Stock 1/4m for a Golf R is around 12.7-12.8. Stage 1 12.0-12.1, Stage 2, 11.5-11.7. Hybrids and race fuel at 550hp however can break into the 10's no probs.

Power ultimately wins an autobahn duel.

And a golf, is well, a golf. Lost interest when the R32 died, R is just one of many four pot hatches that attract the boy racers.

C7 for the win.

Agreed, the Golf R is todays Citroen Saxo.

£225pm lease deals was its major plus point but also its ultimate demise. Image ruined.

Sick of hearing how good Golf R s are.

Don't give a <beep> how fast they are....

They have a shitty sounding 4 pot engine.

You wait in a couple of years the market will be flooded
With them they will be worth jack <beep>.

I must see about 4-5 every day!!.....soon to fall into the hands of the Barry boys I'm afraid.

Anything with less than 5 cylinders doesn't intrest me at all.

Peace out.

The hype about Golf R's is just ridiculous and to a certain extent the BMW M135 (both those groups are mortal enemies it's ridiculous the hatred expressed between them on forums) suffers from the same-it falls into the availability range of idiots. Almost every Golf R I've seen (and most Golfs/Passats etc in truth) is being driven by morons who seem to think driving recklessly and weaving in and out of traffic is the way to go. Had a Golf R try it on once when I had my (stock) C6. Short fight. Am sure you fellas in tuned C6's would have tons of fun.The whole 'giant killer' stuff is mostly pish and invariably the 'giant' crushes the minion!

Aye

As you know you get whoppers trying it on all the time when driving a 6.

Generally VAG fan boys or Jap Crap crew!!

I very rarely bite...not with it these days....plus If said whoppers are in front at any stage your front end gets peppered to bits by debris!!

have they given you an ETA for when your getting it back?
Andy I contacted Audi yesterday. They have all the parts now. Estimate assuming all goes well is two weeks👍

2 weeks! Unfortunately, that's doesn't sound like they are dropping a complete new engine in  2 weeks for a re-build is way over kill as well.

2 weeks is a mega long time. I'm hoping that they're soo busy that they can't start working on it for a week and a half. That would mean, new engine in and test over the remaining half a week.
Either way, hope you get it back and don't have any further issues.

Sorry to continue to hi-jack this thread...

Couldn't agree more. I had one of the very first M135'ers in the UK and whilst I enjoyed it a lot it certainly got that cheap lease fast car status so was glad to get rid of it before it became too much of cliche. However it was always at the top end of the price range in the lease hot hatchback so they aren't as common as the Golf.

The Golf R is the worst candidate. (or the Gold GTD if you have to worry about CO2 and BIK levels.

Chunk I think you are spot on👍 I called in today to find my car still sat with old engine in. Should have been removed this week. Seen new engine and parts though 👍
