Should I move C6 to C7?

I see what you are saying, but the RS7 is cheap for a reason, it looks bloody awful!

What were Audi thinking with this car, it hasn't even got flares arches for crying out loud, the worst RS car in years IMHO.

Trouble with the RS7 is it suffers in the residual department and resale can be a mare...just check out the RS7 section on here. Awesome cars for sure and you can get a PE for the same price as a non PE RS6. If you get one make sure it's a keeper or you will get spanked come sale time. They're also a four seater as well.

So long the spec is right they can hold decent money from year 2 onward albeit initial depreciation is a killer but then I didn't buy new.

Have had two offers on mine which are more than I bought it for 8 months ago. Can get 5 seater if the bench was optioned.

Having gone from an MRC Stage2 C6 to a std C7 - I would say that unless you are happy to suck up the extra £££, don't do it. The C6 is a monster and whilst the C7 is better in almost every way, it is not worth the extra £££ when there is nothing wrong with the C6. When you are really finished with the C6, thats the time and you can know it doing that the next car is not simply different but better in every way.

There's 74 FL cars for sale on Autotrader at the moment, the lowest price being £55k....

If can put up with dog knob red and haven't come from another mega spec Audi / C6 RS6 with all the toys, that Misano with just 16k on the clock at Edinburgh for £54.5k is a lot of car for the money. Air not DRC, no pano, no 21s, no sports pack, no ACC

There's a Daytona pre FL on AT at the moment with pretty much every option including ceramics for £61k which is very strong money.

The facts are a car of this age and performance takes a brave or rich man to take on.

We all know it's quick but it's a numb as a numb thing...and tech wise it's a dinosaur.

C7 pisses on it everywhere dynamically.

A mapped C7 is a near as damitt to a mapped C6.

Time moves on and so do cars....

The C6 is a legendary cool battering ram of a car, I loved mine but when it goes wrong it goes WRONG. I was lucky and mine was a good example but a bad one will kill your wallet stone dead. Some of the bills I've seen on the C6 forum have been eye watering (£7k ) and as I said it's a 12 year old platform now. Old school power with old school dynamics and running costs. Max respect to guys like IanH who have ploughed pretty much the price of another C6 into his one to make it get serious power figures but out of the box the C7 exceeds the C6 on every level apart from having a V10.

But the C6 is still the more special car. Think I've seen 3 on the road in the 9 years due to how rare they car, sub 300 UK cars. C7's you'll see that in a week due to how many they have sold. The C7 is the better car, but it's not cut from the same cloth as RS2 and B5 RS4 which again not dynamically the best cars but very limited and unique in the Audi family. Look at B7 vs B5, the B7 is better but the B5 is now worth more and more desirable.

The gap in price between C6 and C7 isnt that great anymore either. Good C6's are £30k, plus's £35k C7 have dipped in the high £40k's.

I was very close to buying a new C7 when my B5 was stolen, dealer was talking deposit plus £504pm. That would have been cheaper than my 18months in a C6! Do I regret it, not really as a C6 is must own experience. The C7 experience is available in many different packages from Audi and there's better cars from other manufacturers according to motoring writers that do the same thing. Don't get me wrong, I love the C7 and will probably buy a used one but at the moment that I'm enjoying my C6 and playing with it and the feeling of owning something rare and special which to me is an important part of RS ownership. Oh and with H&R Antiroll bars they are a different machine!
