RS6 driving sweet spot

Post by stevo55 » Sun Apr 16, 2017 7:31 pm

I haven't set my 'Individual' mode yet on the car (has Dynamic Pack)-what's the general 'sweet spot' for you guys?
Evo magazine recommend: auto damping & steering. Dynamic engine, differential damping & exhaust
Chris Harris recommended : everything in comfort dampers on soft.
On the C6 it was a choice of 3 on DRC and 'Dynamic' was the one (comfort too bouncy and sport shook your teeth fillings out!).

I've disconnected the exhaust valves so no need to change modes for better sound, it always sounds good.

So, if I am doing any cornering i put it into dynamic and switch between S and D depending on how rapid I want to go. Generally D for the straight boring bits then tap it into S every time I come up to junction.
If it is a long motorway journey then comfort will do and tap it into S when I want to overtake or gain some ground then back into D for the boring bits.

Steering and damping in comfort, everything else in dynamic.

When pushing on I sometime move it to dynamic, and when on a long cruise/long distance it's in comfort.

RS6 driving sweet spot

Engine/gearbox only in dynamic when pushing on. The pops and bangs are tiresome when on a drive, infact they are pretty tiresome full stop.

That's why I disconnected the valves. I can drive with a nice noise without pops and bangs, only get the pops when I need the shaprer throttle response and slip it into S.

Aye, that sounds like the best compromise.

You look like a right knob head pootling around town with it guffing every second. It's so fake.

Thanks fellas as always, look forward to trying out different settings and will try each of them to see which ones suit best.
Also have to say that the Matrix LED's absolutely rock!! My bi xenons on the C6 would be like two mini mag lights in comparison. Unbelievable.
