Second that on the attitude of prospective buyers. If you come across as a shitbag you're not getting anywhere near my car.
As for the '£1000 deposit' idea, Forget it that'll never happen. Would you pay a grand up front to just go and look at a car? Don't think so.

Sorry to read about your experience.

A 60k car, if you're serious? Yes, don't think that's unreasonable.

We malign the stealers for making a profit but from now on my ideas about "value add" have had a new entry.
Not having to spend a lot of money upgrading my home security and wreck my nights sleep for two weeks.

So sorry to have seen this played out in full. I am so glad that my site (tootle) was nothing to do with it......we are so careful about what information is passed on and which dealers are allowed access to our system.

Sorry we could not get a deal done for you this time but hopefully we can help you out in the near future!

yes asking for a £500/£1000 before coming is perfectly normal.. sold alot of 60k+ cars in my time and a serious buyer doesnt have any issues sending deposits. IT usually the knobs who dont want to. :beerchug:

I'd say the safest place to show your car to a prospective buyer is at the local police station.
Current ride’s
Q7 Floret Silver Black Edition On 22’s (2018)
Renault Clio 172 Cup. (Babe the track pig)

Previous rides
SQ5 Glacier white( 2016 65reg)
RS6 avant C7 Daytona Grey 2015 facelift. The one I waved goodbye to!!
2013: Q7 3.0 tdi s/line plus ibis white (13reg)
2012: S5 cabriolet glacier white (62 reg)
2011: RS4 saloon B7. Avus (57 reg)

Had another call today

Literally the first thing he said was "what's your best price"

I hung up.

I've got it in Tootle and had a dealer call me and ask me what my best price is, I asked him what's his best offer (as that's kinda the idea of Tootle) and he was literally lost for words and was tripping over his tongue as didn't know how to respond.

Been disappointed with Tootle on this one, only one offer for £9.5k when Evans Halshaw price is £10,625

Only issue is a) there's no insurance on the car to drive it to Evans Halshaw and b) it's got a few dinks/scratches so it may be a wasted journey by the time they haggle it down...

Glad to hear nobody got hurt. This is why i blur out the number plates on my adverts and give them the address details to my friends work place which has a security barrier to let you in and out. You soon realise who the time wasters are when they want to leave faster than they arrived.

The sad thing is, i was in the barbershop a few weeks ago and a few lads were having a friendly chat about someone looking for an Audi RS6 to steal (as you do) and if anybody knew someone who owned one to let him know!! Cameras and alarms don't deter these people, get your tracker fitted with the option to switch the engine off once it comes to a stop.
BMW M3 - E46 - Estoril Blue - AC Schnitzer
Audi RS4 B7 - Sprint Blue - Black Optics
Mercedes C63 - Matte Metallic Purple
Nissan GTR R35 - Storm White
Nissan GTR R35 - Kuro Black - 700BHP
Audi RS6 C7 - Nogaro Blue + Carbon Styling - Rotiform HUR - Miltek Cat Bak Non Res

Only the police can give the tracker company permission to disable the engine.

what area was this as it would give a heads up to owners in the area

and would it be worth while passing this on to the police in the area too they may be able to keep an eye on these toe rags

but with what went on in Westminster yesterday they might have other priority's at the moment

Horrible for you.

Intrigued by claim that RS6 is a theft problem - I know there has been at least one more on here but my premiums suggest otherwise. One of the cheapest performance cars I have ever insured - and no tracker required. Just renewed with NFU and under £400 all in.
Mark.

Not meant to isolate or insult you. Just to indicate that RS are problem cars for theft, e.g. highly desirable targets.
Manchester today.

Peeps - be careful. Hide it. Get a garage. Be prepared just in case. I hope it never happens to any of you.
Don't fight it. Its a car. A raised car insurance policy is better than a claim on a life policy. That's a whole different issue. For a lot more people.

p.s. I have not replaced it yet. Cannot decide. Especially with the new speeding ticket thing going on.
