Sorry to hear this but Glad to hear you had a lucky escape and you and the family are all good. Now you've got rid of it you'll sleep a whole lot better. As much as I loved my RS and still miss it really bad I doubt I'll ever own another Super Audi until I get out of Brum. That said it's been wild lately anywhere around Brum cause they seem to be hijacking anything. 1 of my mates sister in law got beaten up and jacked for a standard 60 plate Ford Focus. Truth is we just can't have anything nice that we work hard for without worrying that some scumbag wants to nick it off you for free. #lazymotherfuckers.

Ps. Good luck with trying to find a replacement for the RS6. It'll be one of the hardest things to do.

Time for a tuned S6 with "2.0 TDi" badges on the back. The S6 is so "sleeper" I honestly think nobody would ever know....

2 high performance insurers both gave me ridiculous quotes on a std car for the exact reason - one of the most sought after cars currently for the dirty thieves.
I have to lock mine in the garage from 10pm to 6am to be covered for theft or they wouldn't insure me.( only when at home)

Glad your ok, it's only tin after all but makes my blood boil.

Wow, thanks for sharing such a horrible experience,

I think the people thinking its "no worse than any other expensive car" are missing the reason RS6 and RS4 tend to get stolen - they are targetted by professional thieves as getaway vehicles, they arent interested in nicking them to sell on like they would a high end Beemer or a Porsche etc

Very few 4wd cars this big, fast, easy to drive, maintained to high standards and usually bullet proof reliability (I use this kinda lightly lol) with room for more swag in the back than a Lambo would net you from a fence lol

Surely the appropriate action here is a £10 PAYG SIM phone number, the cheapest advert possible on Autotrader and a chain-yanking fictitious address at the end of a really crappy narrow country lane miles from anywhere.

When you hear the right accent: "Fully loaded. No tracker. Mint condition. Must sell as I am going blind. Please do come and test drive it. I live in a little cottage at the end of a quiet lane, let me give you the directions...
I was thinking this, but be there waiting for them to turn up! I don't know why the police don't do this, easy way to catch these jealous w@nkers.

So sorry to hear that fella. Had something very similar happen many years ago when my TTC225 Coupe was stolen during a burglary whilst me & my 2 then young kids were fast asleep.

The experience certainly wasn't a pleasant one & it was the what if's that stuck with me for a while as they did get the car but nothing else. Stories about returning weeks later to get the shiny new replacement car, that they'll have scoped out the interior of the house & pass that info onto regular burglars, but worst of all was the half a paving slab found at the top of the steps leading to my drive/garage as they'd used the other half to smash the front door in. When i asked plod why it clearly wasn't left where they broke the slab or by the front door with the other half, they replied that it would have been left strategically & used on me if i'd happened to have been awake & given chase.

All that said, the car was replaced like for like & i took the view that the scum will never win & have had gradually more appealing cars since then with no issues. That said, i totally understand the desire to go off radar after such a horrific experience.

Sorry to hear of this awful experience - sad when it makes us think twice sometimes about having nice things. I hope they catch the effing scumbags pronto. Shame your experience of this great machine was soured at the end.

Sorry to hear this, i think whilst selling off autotrader you make sure you get a £1000 deposit before anyone comes to see the car. Also request some id (driving license) and proof of funds.

I used the Autotrader Safecall.
In most cases people use their mobile and it passes this through which is one chip in the "who am i speaking to" chain.
The dodgy call came in as "No Caller ID". This and the language set off our tw@t alarms.
If someone says they want to buy the car and see it at some point you have to meet them.
If only there was a (Computer thingy) call Verisign for buying and selling these metal things.

I vet people when selling my cars

If they sound like knob in the first 10 seconds they get hung up on.

Plenty more decent folk out there than knob heads, and knob heads stand out a mile as they aren't intelligent enough to disguise their knob head charateristics
