I use JBS - 10 mins from me.
Looked after my RS4's previously and the missis CUPRA,
Rollers Thursday and then I'll book in for the stage 2.

Isn't the ABT tune about 2grand!! Seems v expensive! Or is that the APr one. Either way - pricey!

ABT one is the tuning box offering and allows you to retain warranty as a result, so really you are paying for that.

I've got to be honest, having seen a friend's new Merlin Purple RS7 i think it is an overhyped colour. Basically, RS4TDI's Instagram has been a PR machine for Merlin, and his photos make it look incredible. In the flesh? Well, it's just purple. Not against the colour, just think there are better.

Whilst we're on subjective matters, i think the car would be transformed by making all the silver bits black!

Glad you are enjoying the car! As Mike has said, even a geo setup really helps. I find the rear diff comes into play the more aggressive you are with the car. Some of it is just gettting used to.

When it comes to the exhaust, it's much louder from the outside! I tend to pop the sunroof and in Sport w/anual changes i still laugh at the pops and cracks i get it to make. And this is coming from a guy who has changed the exhaust on EVERY car he has owned. I like watching clips of the crazy decatted RS6s but would not want to own one - doesn't suit the cars overall character in my book. However, a cat back is something i might get round to (i was a bit jealous finding out the little RS3 is appreciably louder than the RS6).

Your right about the colour - it's not a bad colour (purple is my favourite colour - my gtr below! )
But it doesn't jump out like the google pics!
IMG_3541.JPG
And I also agree about the exhaust tbh. but just has to be done for my tastes.

I had a nardo grey RS3 at the side of me in Sheffield in a 40 zone - must have been just at the right speed to feather the throttle as it was crackling very often - and v loud! Loved it :-)

Lot of downforce on your GTR my friend! The matt purple looks cool.

Trust me, the RS6 does sound pretty insane if you drive it like a loon for a minute or so. It seems to learn and then respond with more theatrics from the exhaust. We got my mate with the Merlin RS7 to drive past us so we could see how loud it was from the outside - 10 minutes later a police car showed up after a local complained about the noise..!

It's Matt metallic, new colour last year. Looks great in all weather.

Noise is only an issue for me with the toddler in the back. When I put race pipes on GTr he never went in it. Far too noisy. It was stupid loud tbh. We are talking on full chat you could hear it coming a mile away loud . Knocked off leds in the instrument panel due to vibrations at 3k revs.
Chav at heart... :-)

I used to run a 997 GT3 with straight pipes as a daily! I had a girl at work follow me out of the office one and she pulled over as she couldn't handle the noise.

I used to love it, but for me an RS6 as an all-rounder shouldn't be too overly compromised.

Ha I'm with you there. When I first got my 6 I started it up for some friends to listen to the exhaust then the wife came out and fired up her RS3 and made me look silly.

Just had a good run in it. Mega.
Traction in sport seemed to be better in sub optimal weather.
Tbh I though I felt traction halt me at around 5000 earlier in the dry.
Do people drive it in tc sport?

Never felt the need to turn traction into sport mode. I read that a lot of the RS3 guys drive in Sport all the time as they find the traction intrusive in normal mode but I can't say I get the traction light on often. Maybe I'm driving too slow. Or maybe as my tyres wear I'll get it more.

It's likely running 650 and similar torque so I'd guess it would light them up in damp conditions in first couple of gears..

What I do need to do is stop fiddling wth the mmi etc! Proper distraction.
