Yeah, Kevs sound. I know him from his Chemix days. It was around 8 weeks ago I'd heard they'd gone down hill. It was another tyre company that told me that, sounds like I should take it with a pinch or salt. Good to know they're still good then. Bloody tight getting round the back of the workshop if it's busy!

Yep I used them yesterday on mine and it was the same exceptional service!

Anyone know of a good place in Scotland to have the alignment checked/adjusted?

Thought i would get the alignment checked as the car didnt feel quite right.
found my local hunter alignment specialist and they found this. Im not totally up to speed on figures for alignment but this seems like it would cause a problem :biggrin2:

Anyway seems sorted now all apart from having to hold the wheel to the right ever so slightly to keep it straight - drove straight before might need to go back for a tweak.

A-Line have a good rep and as max says, they've always been consistant in their service

We have a Hunter hawk eye at our workshop, its one of the best (if not the most expensive) pieces of equipment we've bought, i also bought the additional ride height sensors for it so that i could set my coilovers up on my Rs6 correctly

Having read the comments on this thread and experienced the power weave that occurs on cambered roads I thought I'd get ours set up. Took it to wheels in motion in Chesham as they have a good reputation. After some spanner twirling front and rear the cars feels so much more planted with a lot less movement when you nail it. V impressed by their knowledge and changes to the car, well worth checking !

I know this was aimed at Stubox, but from my experience if you go to Kwikfit you pay a lot of money for a rubbish service (I think I went in 3 times and spent about 4 hours and ended up with 2 cars still needing an aligment) and they charge a fixed amount.
Go to a decent place and they normally charge for the amount of time taken to correct the wheels (i.e by the hour) so if you are pretty good to start with then it cost less than if you need a lot of adjustment. From memory I pay about £40-£80 for visit. For comparison, I think I paid £120 for kwik-fit to align my B7 (they incorrectly used B8 settings). This was meant to include free re-alignments but when I went back to ask them to correct it they were messing me around so much I lost my temper and left with my car still out of aligment.

To be fair the hunter aligner is only as good as the tech using it.

I have experience on hunter equipment, and regularly rectified alignment issues with cars that had recently had hunter alignment elsewhere.

Altough kwik fit had the right kit, they were useless.

As a rule of thumb i have always had alignment after lowering, my car is booked in this week for it after the H&R's went on.

Hi £72, was there about 45mins. Plus time chatting to one of them with an RS3 :)
