I honestly can't see this making any massive gains?

At least with OEM Style "colder" outer air is directed to air filter?

This must be sucking in hot air!! You can fry and egg on this engine.

Also in the ECOTUNE RS6 they said they experimented with filters etc and the OEM air box was best I believe??....just a aftermarket fikter(piper cross I believe) gave the best gains.

Dat was me great bit of kit in my opinion. Never had it on dyno but had it on 1/4 mile a few times. Was in high 11s before and next vist was mid 11s. Can say either way if it made a difference but it's sounds f@cking awesome.

That was it, it was Zee!!!

It looks like the orignal snorkel is still in place to direct the cold air from above the radiator onto the filters.

Well spotted mike it come with a pretty neat fitting heat shield so can't see the heat affecting it too much. Honestly th sound is worth every penny. Real nice turbo whine from the front and the pops and bursts from the rear great fun

That's the problem with my air filter; being enclosed it didn't add any extra noise.

They sound great. Don't realise the intake would make the turbos more audible. I assumed it was just the air induction noise you would hear.

I understand actual performance gains might not be massive or non existent but I saw a video of a blue s7 on YouTube running these filters and it sounds insane. the question is will it harm performance at all looks like the standard cold air feed remains in place so shouldn't suck to much warm air in?

It would not outperform OEM, and the hotter the car gets the worse it will be. However, louder often feels quicker!

In a previous life i used to do a lot of rolling road stuff and invariably OEM intakes were always best and usually for N/A applications the OEM exhaust was better too - it's just aftermarket suppliers love quoting peak power gains when in reality there is a big hole left in the mid-range.

However, not knocking it, a better sounding car is always good news! I'm never touching my engine 'cos of warranty though.

I've had the car in twice now and never mentioned the filter.

Any chance of a video showing the sound? i.e drive-by or from inside the car under load?
