Replacement Grille - Facelift Model

Post by Hacquoil » Wed Aug 17, 2016 8:32 am

Hey Guys,

I'm (hopefully) taking delivery of a '16 RS6 at the end of the week and am already working my way through a list of modifications / upgrades / changes etc.

One of the things I'd like to do is to replace the front grille (this car has the normal grille without the quattro at the bottom and with silver rings) - I'd like to replace this with the quattro grille with black rings, however I've not been able to find any grilles that fit the facelift model. I've looked at Raywell / eBay / searched on forums etc and haven't been able to find anything. Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks.

There are no official black rings, I wouldn't worry about the rings, just buy any suitable grille and buy a set of rings from raywell design and swap it for the Chrome ones before installing the grill.
This then leaves you 2 options, buying a replica one or buying a genuine one. This depends on how much you are willing to spend and how bothered you are about the look of it.

Thanks Mike - what are my options re replica / genuine, e.g. where would be the best place to look for both?

Are there any good retailers that sell OEM / genuine parts (sorry for the n00b question, new to this!). All of the replica options I've seen on eBay / elsewhere all seem to state that they're not compatible with the facelift model, which is why I'm a little stumped. Appreciate the advice on the black rings, thanks.

For genuine you can go to Audi but that will be the most expensive option. For a cheaper version, contact LittleDevil on here. He will get you new genuine parts cheaper than Audi.
For non-genuine parts, there is a company that was at Audis in the Park at the weekend but I can't recall their name, I will have to do some searching. Not sure if they have facelift though.

Also, search on ebay for anywhere in europe. There is a whoel front end for sale for facelift with wings, bonnet, lights, bumper, grille, fans etc. Bit pricey for just a grille (£8k+) but he might be willing to split. There are 2 black / carbon ones for sale but they are about £1.8k and £2.8k.

Unless I'm missing something they stopped selling them a while back. I've been checking back at their website, but there's no sign of them anymore.

Any other reputable places?

Imagine it's just stock issue. I only got mine about a month ago. They didn't fit properly though! There were a couple of unneccessary lugs that needed to be taken off.

Alternatively, you could get the grille plasti dipped. With the Performance edition, you couldn't get black mirrors so i had mine carbon dipped and they match the carbon pack of mine nicely. The advantage is of course you could go back to how it was when selling it pretty easily.

For me, the black/carbon grilles make a huge difference in the car's presence so fully endorse your move! :thumb:

I have got a brand new in the box genuine facelift grille in black with Quattro logo. They are over £1000 from Audi, if you want it we can do a really good deal on it

That does not include carbon tax. Remember one mirror cover....1700.

I assume this has the gloss black frame and is the version you get with the gloss black styling package? If so please can you PM me with the price.

Thanks.

It's a gloss black grille with Quattro lettering, no carbon

Part number 4G0 853 651 BD

I bought it for my car which it doesn't fit!!!

It's for facelift cars - cost me best part of £1000

£500
