i picked up my A7 yesterday and the seller decided to change the remote batteries, now i am getting a error message when trying to start the car

key not recognised Hold key on back of marked area

is there anyway to resync myself or does it need to go to audi?

Sounds like the battery is still flat to me or there is an issue with the key. Do you have a second key to try?

Strange that normally happens when I have the key outside of the car so it cannot pick it up

Might be a stupid question but have you actually tried holding the keys against the marked area?

As above, when I tried to turn on the ignition from the passenger seat once I got this message. It moved the key closer and it wouldn't start even in drivers seat until I held the key up to the sensor.

The car will start once i hold the key next to the marked area, it also opens and locks the doors fine.

I've read online that you need to re sync the keys within 30secs of changing the batteries but obviously the dealer did not do this when they changed the batteries :audibash:

regards to the video above that is for the older style keys and as New A6 and A7 are keyless this will not work

Changed my battery just cos I had a new spare.

Didn't do the 30 secs thing? Worked fine.
