How many litres of oil for a standard oil change?

BLAU® oil change kit features:
9 Liters Of German Ravenol VPD 5w40 Motor Oil - Approved Audi motor oil quality standard 502 00 and 505 01 required for 4.2L RS6 gasoline engines. It is recommended to use a 505 01 diesel spec oil to offer RS6 engines better high heat stability and protection.
1 Oil Filter (German Mfd.)
1 OEM Oil Pan Drain Plug Washer

Boff is quoting the 4.2l engine above used in the C5 RS6's

Although you will still need 9litres, you'll specifically be wanting VW502.0 spec oil.

Firm Believer in RTFM but just can't seem to make sense of it at the moment.

I am on long life servicing and the RS is approaching 24months old. I chose to have an oil change done at 10,000miles- Shell Helix was what Audi supplied. I get from the manual that the oil needs to meet VW 504 00 spec for Flexible servicing and for Fixed Serving should be VW502 00 spec and that VW504 00 can be used on fixed servicing when using good quality fuel. Is there a reason why I would want to use VW502 00 spec oil instead of the VW504 00?

I am considering going to a fixed service interval, and want to supply the oil myself to shave a little off the bill(given I am having it done more frequently than I could). Should I be buying the VW502 00 spec or is it ok to use the VW504 00 spec; are Audi likely to insist on VW502 00?

Also what viscosity of oil is recommended 5W-30, 0W-30 or 5W-40? The can that came with the car is Shell 0W-30 [504 00 spec] so presumably that is what it should be . It seems Audi are now supplying Castrol rather than Shell oils, I guess it doesn't really matter if I now change to Castrol?
