I've an Akrapovic Exhaust on my bike, and the quality of manufacture is stunning.prestigewheelcentre wrote:We recently visited the Akrapovic factory in Slovenia around 4 weeks ago and its certainly not an exhaust note you pay for. The materials used as far superior to anything else in production which is Titanium and Inconel, and as a result there is no warping after a year of use from stresses caused by movement.Leo-RS wrote:The issue I have with it and reason I haven't pressed ahead and snapped your arm off is not down to the price but the fact that it's just a catback system.
You're essentially paying £4k for the exhaust note, there will be next to no benefits from the performance side, all the exhaust gains are in the OEM downpipes. Don't get me wrong, a lovely piece of kit, the best of the best if you like but let down by the fact it's not a full system for me. You can buy a new Milltek catback for less than half of the £4k you're asking for and the whole system which will allow you to go Stage 2 (+50hp) for £3.5k
You're probably best trying ebay to sell this one, a European buyer I suspect will snap it up if you're having no joy here.
Just by adding the system alone you gain only 7HP but you also get 15.4 NM and with a re-map you have a weapon!
Ive driven RS6 with both Miltek and Akra and persoanlly would go with the Akra everytime. Cant stand the droning in the cabin from the Miltek.
I've not been in a miltek RS6, but I have recently with an Akra System, and the sound was exceptionally good. Not too loud, but very low with lots of base and good pops on overrun
