There must be car specifics in the ECU. I cannot believe ze Germans haven't thought of that.

What do they mean get TD1 flags removed, from what I have read the flags are on VAGs internal systems, and it's created once the VAG system sees something has been modified or changed? It can also be applied manually If the tech sees something different (I think)

Of course, they can flash the car back to standard, but don't the ECUs know how many flashes they have had?

Not this old debate again!!!

Map/Chip your car or whatever you want to call it.....engine goes boom...expect to be rumbled end of story.

You can't tell me in 2016 that one of the biggest car manufacturers in the world CANT tell if you've fiddled with your car!!!

Reflashing, changing ECU etc etc.....it would cost them millions of they couldn't detect mods and we're constantly paying out.

As I've said you pay your money you take your chances....

Aye the old V10 certainly seems to be honed from granite.

C6 starting to look a bit prehistoric now. And whilst the power is nice, old Blighty is not ideal, something that goes around corners is better IMO.

Or go the ABT route which provides insurance based cover for anything not covered by Audi. Issue solved, more power, still covered - but t costs more than the others :)

Andy - is the ABT a plug and play piece of kit that can be fitted anywhere? It's not easy for me to get to MRC or similar.
No doubt some will say that get custom map is better (and it might be), but ABT has been working with Audis for a long time and I'm sure will be good quality.

Is the UK covered by warranty? It wasn't listed as one of the countries when I looked a few months back. Also, how much more does it cost..(first level upgrade, no exhaust system)?

Thanks

Yes, it will be good quality. They just have to be a bit more cautious with fueling, ignition timing, and boost, due to slight variances in each engine, and assuming the engine might not be in top health.

I'm pretty sure if you have a car tuned at mrc and have issues with the car you could take it back to mrc and they will sort it before you go to audi to resolve the issue etc

Yes it can be fitted anywhere I think. You have to provide some specific information from your vehicle which gets sent to ABT in Germany. They then programme the box and send it out to the dealer but I'm sure they could help you remotely set it up. Richter are the uk agents. I'm speaking to them later - I can check for you if you like?

Oh and forgot to say the warranty in the UK is insurance backed. Seems ok though from what I can see.

That needs properly trawling, as regardless it'll still be a ball ache if a claim is required and it ends up falling in the crack between insurance and Audi. How long is the policy for and who underwrites it?
