Remapping a C7 RS6 Performance Edition

Post by andywaddy » Fri Apr 08, 2016 12:46 pm

Hi all,

As per the title, I'm just curious as to whether anybody has mapped a performance edition yet?

Talking to Doug at MRC he says he mapped one for Sportmile.
I'd imagine once mapped it will be exactly the same as a normal mapped car as I'm not aware of any hardware dofferences between the 2.

The c7 and c7.5 are different :

C7 RS 6 compression ratio - 10:1
C7.5 RS 6 compression ratio - 9.3:1
C7.5 RS 6 performance compression ratio : 10:1

The Pistons size of the c7.5 is the same as the S8.

I'm interested in seeing the results of a mapped RS 6 performance. My guesstimate is 715hp at MRC on stage 1 file.

A friend of mine who tuned his own (owns a tuning company) came out with 731hp and 1032Nm from a 15 plate non-performance just from a map and Milltek. Said that the torque figure could be higher if required but it's struggling to gain grip in the wet at that.

I thought the reason for the extra power in the performance was down to just a slightly higher amount of boost. Therefore with a remap which increases boost any pre-map advantage is lost?

Compression ratios mean nothing to me but I can see the pre-facelift has the same compression ratio as the performance. Does that mean the performance will be the same as a pre-facelift when remapped? Or are you saying the higher compression ratio combined with the different piston size makes a difference?

According to Doug the performance will make about 690-700ps & 970nm when mapped with the standard exhaust. With a proper exhaust it will make 740ps and 1050nm. Aren't these the same figures for a non-performance car?

Yes, same numbers which is what I'd expect.

did not know the facelift had lower compression, that's good news for higher boost on mapped cars.
BMW 540i
2018 GTR
F90 M5
X3MC
RS3 Saloon
RS7 FL best car I've owned. No faith in turbo oil screen (turbos failing) or sticking oil scraper ring causing missfires.
F10 M5 LCI still no rear grip lol
S7 black Edition Too big and heavy
S3 8V FL DSG 310ps, road noise is a joke
RS3 8P Rubbish
C7 RS6 Fantastic car but missed playing
GTR R35 800bhp, too extreme, crazy fast though
911 Turbo Remapped. Hated it
F10 M5, awesome but no rear grip
RS6 V10 700BHP crazy
Porsche Cayenne Turbo S 600bhp

Not according to Audi, the FL and the FL PE are both 9.3:1.

(Hard to imagine how they would have differing compression ratios and yet have identical fuel consumption and CO2 ratings)

Im more interested to know what power a standard PE makes! Is the 605ps conservative or on the money? And, what does a standard RS6 make compared to claimed figures?
Current Fleet:

2015 Porsche 991 GT3
2015 Porsche 991 Carrera 4 Cab
2012 Porsche Cayenne Diesel

Rob a standard RS6 will dyno at about 380ps.
I'm interested to see what a performance one will do too; whether it is actually 605 or more like 630ps.

Just need to find some time and a day off to go to MRC.

Go to an Audi dealer and look up the Piston part number between a pre facelift and post facelift. That will be your answer.

FYI

No need for a trip to a dealer, I just checked on the Audi website. Both cars are 9.3:1 according to that.

But I note you have posted pre- and post-FL data, so perhaps we are in violent agreement? I am only saying that the post-FL standard car and PE car are the same.

Haha....hmmm. I need to recheck my facts on the PE model. Will be right back. I don't 100% trust the Audi site all the time.
