Some stupid questions

Post by zzz » Sat Jan 30, 2016 3:30 pm

I don't have the front facing camera option on my car, but I see one through the front of the windscreen above the mirror. What is this for & can it be activated as the forward facing camera for parking?

Does everyone have the sim card slot between the SD card slots or is this part of the Audi Connect pack?

Is drive select standard?

Drive select is standard.

SIM card slot is only found on cars with connect.

The camera above the mirror is for the led matrix lights I think. I doubt you can use it for anything other than it's intended purpose.

Thanks guys. Next stupid question. I got a data share SIM from EE to put into the slot, but only seem to be getting a 3G signal in good 4g coverage areas (the phone shows 4g). Are others getting a 4g connection showing on the MMI screen using a separate sim?

It'll show as LTE, assuming your car is a facelift. Otherwise 3G is your lot.

Sadly it is pre facelift :x Is there a software update that allows me to enable it?

I'm a bit miffed as the sales guy said it was 4g and the car could be set up as a hotspot for passengers. Nothing in writing ofc.

Alas not, different hardware. Same applies with 3G, still acts as a hotspot.
