Hey all there are 3 RS6s up for sale at GC Motors. Does anyone have any experience dealing with them that they can share constructively.

I'm reluctant to not buy Audi Approved but had a deal fall through recently on an AA car that wasn't as it should be, so am feeling "creative".

Prestigious high end car dealership in Harrogate, I have used them twice now (For selling my cars) and found them to be very good.

With regards to selling your car, they tend to come in at over book price and will send a driver anywhere in the UK to pick up your car. As long as your car has a decent spec, under 3yrs old and low mileage, they will more than likely buy your car from you.

From a buyers side, not sure, from a sellers side though, 10/10

Have to say I agree re selling. Sold them our SQ5, paid £1500 more than the audi steamers. Collection, payment all hassle free.

Mixed review from me. I bought a Boxster off them about 5 years ago and it was a good experience and the car was sound. I looked at a Vantage a year or two later, and after travelling down (it's about an hour and a half from me) discovered it had been serviced once in 5 years, even though I was assured it had full history over the phone. I also looked at a Granturismo at a later date and it was dog rough. There is a horror story on Pistonheads about Porsche GT3 they sold. I don't think I'd buy off them again, they don't seem too bothered about what they sell.

I've dealt with them before. Alex there is very helpful. Always been avoid experience. Infact I nearly bought the red RS6 they had but got a better deal on new in the end.

Didn't Paul from Supercars of London had a bit of a mare with an Audi R8 V10 from them too? It went back and they 'bought his silence' and he bought another one elsewhere

Indeed, there was a story on Pistonheads of a White R8, which had to be pulled from PH for legal reasons. An absolute horror story where they bought an allegedly severely damaged R8, and allegedly tried to cover over the damage etc before selling. Then allegedly huge problems when the owner discovered the damage etc.

They recently had a lovely looking Misano C7 with Carbon pack, but the stories on PH put me off , especially at that price point where you need everything to be right.

There is always going to be a few horror stories for every garage up and down the country, it's how they deal with the issues that's important.

They cannot possibly know the history of every vehicle that they purchase so if they buy a lemon unknowingly then I guess that's just part of the business that they are in, take it on the chin and move on.

From a sellers point of view though, I found the examination very thorough, when I have sold a vehicle through Audi, I give them the details over the phone, give them an honest opinion of the cars condition and then agree a price over the phone, when the time comes, pick up my new car, hand in the keys to my old car and quite a few times, they haven't even inspected it, just taken the keys and wished me well in my new car.

Completely different with GC motors though, I sold my last car to them June 15 and they sent a driver from Harrogate to Aberdeen, the guy thoroughly inspected the car, 30-40mins worth, torch underneath, brake pads and discs, boot open, carpets up, tool kit out, back seats down, paintwork with a torch, tyre treads and conditions, shocks, exhaust condition, engine oil, coolant, leak checks, then he plugged his laptop in, carried out a fault code and mileage check, checked the servicing records and receipts, then after all that gave me the thumbs up that everything was good. Phoned the finance chap at GC, confirmed that the car was good, 10mins later, the funds were in my account and off he went.

Perhaps they changed the way they do things after these pistonheads horror stories but I found the whole process very thorough and professional. I can only comment on the sellers aspect but if every car was looked at like mine was, I don't think I would have a problem buying from them either especially if the car was still under manufacturers warranty.

I've considered dealing with GC quite a few times, been there twice. The info you supplied is good to know for future reference.

I agree re lack of checks by Audi dealer. Last part ex I did they did not even step outside to look at my car (30k's worth) - just asked me to sign the paperwork and handed me the keys to my new RS6. It was a tight deal after much haggling too so they had a lot to lose potentially. Or perhaps I am just trustworthy My car was perfect - but you would have thought it worth even a cursory check!

I bought my X5 from them a while back and to be honest it was all fine until i started asking them to take off the 22" cheap aftermarket wheels and stick on the originals. They took pictures of the wheels they were going to put on and they were the older X5 model wheels. They take in these cars, punt the originals for a decent price, and then they put on shitty aftermarkets with the worst cheapest tyres possible and try to charge you - £2-3k for them. Other than that the deal buying and selling was sound enough, but don't think i'd use them again tbh

This was my experience too. Not doubting the earlier horror-stories though.
