Sepang Blue or Merlin Purple

Post by Paulm » Sat Sep 26, 2015 7:35 pm

Dilemma,

My neighbour 2 doors up just bought a A4 sepang blue. I just ordered a sepang blue RS6 now thinking of Merlin. I know the A4 is nothing like the RS6 but 2 the same colour 80 feet apart, not keen on that

Anyone seen Merlin in the flesh?? They look awesome in pics but most have been photo shopped.

Sepang Blue or Merlin Purple

Dunno, Sepang isn't that common. Merlin is marmite. For me it'd be like driving a massive veiny bang stick. Not sure it'll do much for re-sale if that's a factor.

Test drove a merlin rs4 at exeter audi and it was stunning in the sun but not sure I'd be brave enough. Had a lunar interior which worked well though.

Sepang all day long. I mean both lovely but sepang just suits and after seeing Wayne's merlin purple 6 in the flesh on a not so sunny day just looked really dull, where as sepang would look lush on either and in this country I think sepang on our dull days would work a treat. As someone mentioned come resale time and also the delay there will be on merlin. End of the day your choice both be great but merlin looks much better with the filters and editing of pics or a really sunny day to bring out the true colour otherwise a dark dull mauve colour. :beerchug:

Ross you don't have any light chips on yours as a friend has a RS6 same colour managed to get a stone chip tiny on bonnet after 500 miles, it's small but when I pointed it out to him we both know it's there now. And with it being an exclusive colour not sure what to do ???, so true if car was black or grey he wouldn't haven't minded as much might sound daft but just be caused exclusive makes 10x worse got a chip on the turbo s that's black and wasn't even fussed :biggrin3:

Panther Black is the way to go, i picked up my new RS6 last month and changed my mind 3 times during the ordering period. Seen so many comments about Panther Black and not appreciating it until you see it in the flesh. It bright sunlight the different colours are stunning! If you are thinking of Merlin then Panther is well worth checking out.

I put a deposit down on a Panther Black car - as you say lovely when you're really close to the car and it's in direct sunlight. However it's just black in any other light that bright direct light, and just wasn't enough for me. Overcast days and the car just looks plain.

There's a Merlin Purple C7 RS6 in Bedford Audi showroom now... Not that I want it... much ...!
