IMO nordschleife is the place to try this cars potential!
I've had a couple of exposures to the gum ball. First was at the opening Party a few years ago as one of the companies I was sponsored by for riding my bike (DC Shoes) were also a sponsor of gum ball for a year. The party was full of largely very rich idiots and a few very Z-lists stars (although I'm now aware that it attracts more famous people now). The general thinking at the opening party was that money could buy you out of any trouble and you could drive how you wanted
The second time was few years later driving in Europe on a bike trip and coincidently a few of the cars were on the same stretch of road as I was on (this was the year someone was killed in Hungary-at least I think it was Hungary, but might have been Ukraine)
The gumball cars, as they came past me, were swerving in and out of traffic on a busy motorway at silly speeds, and within just a few miles, I saw a few very near misses with general traffic and people acting like knobs
I like fast driving like the next person, but there's times and places for everything, and I guess this is how someone got killed a few days later
It may have grown into a much more sensible thing now, but I somehow doubt it very much
Just my tuppence worth
Fwiw, the year that DC were sponsoring the Gumball, I shot a photo of a 360 jump that was due for the cover of RideBMX magazine, but it never got used as the banner they'd hung half fell off, and we never got a chance to reshoot the photo before deadlines.
