Your first problem is these are not like for like quotes due to different terms (3yr and 4yr)
If you look at a three year PCP quote in line with your PCH quote you just need to work out the total costs you pay on each over the term.
PCH quote = £8255.74 deposit plus payments of £917.30 x 35 = £40,361.24 and then you give the car back, no equity for next car.
Working on a 3 yr PCP quote I took from the finance calculator on the Audi website your payments based on 10k per annum are.
Deposit = £20,000 (I didn't included the extra £6k as you don't pay that)
Payments work out at £565.09 per month x 35 payments = £19778.15
Total payable = £39778.15
Therefore PCP is slightly cheaper overall. Also the optional final payment on the car is £42,470.89. You could potentially have some equity in that figure.
I would get yourself another PCP quote over the three year period to confirm

Re: Buying an RS6 for Dummies...
agree with the above. And just for clarity, in your 48 month PCP deal, you'll pay £52624.16 over 48 months, nearly £8.5k of that being interest.
Re: Buying an RS6 for Dummies...
PCP It will be for those interested the spec is now:
Nardo
PA2 Dynamic package
PA7 Gloss black styling package including air intake duct with quattro logo
4A4 Heated front/rear seats

3FU Panoramic glass sunroof

48 monthly payments of £700.64

I must admit I've found a quandary with spec - there are things I have added because I want them and things I have added because I think I should have them for resale.

Re: Buying an RS6 for Dummies...
Can you nego on the £6k contribution on PCP with your dealer as broad speed are showing £10.5k currently
If not, then it's well worth travelling a few miles to another dealer if there's £4.5k in your pocket

Re: Buying an RS6 for Dummies...
i went with broadspeed and got a lot more than £10k off (inc the PCP contrib)... obviously timing will play a factor as this was a little while ago, but i get the impression that deals may be easier to come by now.

Re: Buying an RS6 for Dummies...
The full price of that car is around £88,300 so I think he has already got his extra £4.5K discount

small price rise across the A6 range apparently.
Re: Buying an RS6 for Dummies...
Sorry chaps, one further question if I may for your opinions.
These are the two different options I have to chose from based on the car I have ordered. £87,750.
I'm assuming generally speaking the shorter the term the better providing the monthly payments are where you need them to be?! Obviously the 'total amount payable' is key, but I always struggle with the 'final rental' figure and what this should aim to be.
Here are the two over 2 and 4 years. Historically I have kept my previous RS's for 2 years.
Thanks again, from an ad creative who hates numbers.

Re: Buying an RS6 for Dummies...
I also am a bit miffed! Our dealer only offered the 6k dealer contribution towards our new RS6! Should I have pushed him for more??? Build date now week 23 so not long to go but just had a quote from BroadSpeed with 10k discount??? Has anyone else been down this road??
Re: Buying an RS6 for Dummies...
If this helps, and I'm no expert...
I specced my car last weekend at £87,750
Discount including dealer contribution was £10,447
My broker couldn't beat this, nor the build slot of week 20. I actually didn't even try anywhere else, my broker said take it. We shall see of course if it actually turns up this side of Christmas....

Re: Buying an RS6 for Dummies...
If your dealer is only offering 6k contribution then go somewhere else. Everyone gets the 6k off so not to be offered anymore is a bit <beep>.
I cancelled my order but I was getting over £12k off a £86k list car.
