Just had a quote on a Audi Approved RS6 to compare to my new order, just to settle my internal debate as to whether it was actually more sensible to buy a used car. Car was £69.5k, 5k miles, registered May 14. Good spec, carbon, dynamic pack, big wheels, sports exhausts....

Based on only 5k miles per year over 36 months. Came back with:

£20k deposit
36 x £938
GFV = £26814

Total payable over the 3 years before the final payment is 53k. Makes my deal look amazing. I know there's a thread on the forum titled "who would buy new?" but with deals like these, "who would buy used"...?

Is the GFV typically so low on AA deals? Why?

New rate finance = 4.8%
Used rate finance = 10.9%

GFV on new car will be considerably more than GFV of used car. No Audi finance contribution on used car, big £6k contribution on new.

It really does not make any sense buying used unless you are a cash buyer.

A) they are unsupported by the OEM on rate. So the rate is typically double

B) it's a used car so the GFV is much much lower as it's risk adjusted to having a min 2 owner car to shift on at auction

That's a terrible looking deal compared to what's available on new RS6's. That said, i bet you could get a slug knocked off the asking price for a 12th old car as even with decent options, it's only going to make the car more attractive rather than massively increase it's value (although i'm not sure how much the carbon pack is).

April 1st new order finance offer updated, GFV is lowered by a few hundred quid or so on 10k/3yr deal, same 6k contribution, same interest rate.

Oddly the finance calculator is showing the old GFV compared to the revised one on the offers page but showing new dates.

Finance calculator updated now Mark. Around £650 down on the GFV from yesterday

£43,117 with 10% deposit over 36 months = £819pm - Yesterday
£42,470 with 10% deposit over 36 months = £836pm - Today

So a +£603 change overnight (£17.23 x 35)

The buggers at Audi finance have changed the figures a few times over the last month. 3 samples below, beginning of March, middle of March and beginning of April

The 3yr £46,258 plan was the one to have if you managed to catch it.

£46,258 with 10% deposit over 36 months = £735pm. Even adjusting for the 30k mileage instead of the 15k mileage to match the offers above, 15k x £0.09 = £1,350 (+£38pm x 35) - Still would have given you a payment of £773pm in comparison to todays £836pm just one month later based over the same terms. Difference of £2.2k in the space of a month (£63pm difference x 35)

Anyone thinking about getting an RS6, get one on order pronto

Finance?

Post by boff » Sun Apr 05, 2015 10:54 pm

Thats the thing eh? Cars are mega emotional things for even the hardest businessman to buy, and as stated here - the finance is confusing.

Having just bought a car using other finance i.e cash-ish i have a few issues.

I think that if you take finance you should have an enforced 24/48 hours to cool down and fully understand the way the figures are structured.

AND this whole deposit contribution thing stinks, it is illegal under fsa rules to influence a sale to your finance package through preferential terms over cash.

The amount of time ive been told to take the audi finance to save money is untrue - and very close to the wire. This needs to be investigated by someone who understands these laws i.e the fsa

^ I've just cancelled my order... :-(

Decided to stick with the RS4 a few months longer. I was 95% there but since placing the order, the 5% doubt got to me and I' bottled it .The deal I got was the best around, early delivery slot as well.

I had a couple doubts about the car (mainly size), then BMW dropped their finance figures for Q2 and then I looked a the finance over and over and the hardest part is not knowing what equity you'll have left at the end of the term. When I bought the RS4, £20K down, financed the rest with a balloon of £18k. By the end of term I wanted to keep the car so paying off £18k wasn't that big of a deal and I kept the car a long time and loved it. The figure for the RS6 are one step up, balloon of £43k and I dunno if I'm that rich if I decide the same, I know I can refinance it. Monthlies, deposit and interest amounted to £37k over 3 years(total payable minus GFV) and then I start to question myself as to why I need such a car, and question how stupid it is to lose 37k on a car over 3 years. I know that's the game where in with these cars but maybe for me it was a step too far at this point in my life. Not saying I won't change my mind or ever own this car, I love so many things about it but just putting it on ice for now.

slot might be available if anyone is looking for a car end of spring.

Sh1t a brick. They're good but please tell me all Premium cars carry some kind of horrific Brazilian tax?

Our litre of gas is about the same though.

They come better specced Paul around £105k UK spec from what I believe. Ceramics, 21's, Panoramic, B&0, Sports Exhaust, Sports Suspension, Dynamic Steering. I'm sure there are a few more additons onto that also.

Still a hefty Mark up though, $225k is £151k.

With every option ticked on the UK spec including 5yrs warranty and a heap of accessories, roof racks, luggage boxes etc, it is possible to spec a UK car to a whopping £137k.

all cars and motorcycles here is very expensive... i have a ducati panigale s senna edition... U$ 43.000,00. in 2011 i bought a camaro ss v8 - U$ 120.000,00 - in 2013 a lambo gallardo spyder 2010 U$ 500.000,00...
we have two problems here... tax (around 40/50%) and the profits of the dealers (20-35%).

in other side, food and girls are very cheap... LOL...
