The new generation ACC is so much more superior to the old one. Because it uses the camera as well as radar, it 'understands' lane discipline, where the old one didn't.
If you go round a slow sweeping motorway bend on the old one, it would often hoof on if there was a vehicle on the inside lane to you. The new one doesn't. It wont intentionally undertake anyone in the lane to the right of you either....
Oh, and for the brave, it now works all the way up to 155 mph. <gulp> I tried it at 120, once, and briefly...
The whole camera behind the rear view mirror does add a level of complexity to windscreen replacement though as the whole thing needs recalibrating afterwards. And if you have the heads up display as well then it gets further still complicated... I guess that 'progress' though...
