Terrible Audi garages in north east.

Post by M1R XE » Tue Oct 01, 2013 5:26 pm

Went test drove one at stealers. The better of the 2 in north east. Then asked for a extended test drive. Rang up 3 times yeah well get it sorted nothing. Been 3 weeks now and nothing rang up Tyneside Audi other as suggested by mark no problem ring you back. Nothing am I missing something here they try to sell cars that are difficult to sell. Now I see why go to spend 80+grand of your hard earned money on a new car and get treat like an idiot and they want you to run after them. Don't think so I think ill just stick to my C6 anyways. :audibash:

Post test drive, the guy having seen my RS4 and taken all of my and the cars details, salesman says speak to you Monday.

That was three weeks ago.

Laughable.

Except they aren't difficult to sell, Audi's are selling like hot cakes, and the past three weeks has been a new registration month so the busiest time for a dealer...

Most of the time they get the same they commission for selling an RS 6 they do an A3/4, so it doesn't matter what they sell.

However, the RS 6 is going to attract a lot of tyre kickers, and a good salesman will always try to weed out the serious enquires otherwise they're going to end up being busy fools, test driving dreamers whilst missing out on the serious enquires, btw, I am in no way suggesting the OP is a dreamer.

I would try and book the test drive online via the Audi.co.uk website, this way it will be followed up, alternatively, contact the DP and/or the sales manager.

Doodlebug exactly clearly could see not a tyre kicker or TIMEWASTER as I pulled up in the RS6 and he complimented it. And amar the customer service in the north easy is just generally really crap mate. Doodlebug exactly he's seen ur car took details knows ur not an timewaster. So why and and yeah audis are selling like hit cakes but the RS6 is obviously going to be selling I'n smaller numbers. And in the north east not many RS6 buyers tbh from what I've been told.

Doodlebug also were the customers we shouldn't be running after them the reason I haven't rang back after ringing a couple times. I feel as if we've got to sell the car to ourselves, hence the reason I went all the way to Lincoln Audi from Newcastle upon Tyne. And have had a couple cars off them. That's when u know something's wrong 2 Audi garages within 10 miles of me and left them both behind. I'm sure the north east Audi lads can back me on the laughable customer service.

Its crap service period. I don't know why excuses are being made like stealers are special. Good customer service is good customer service and the motor trade should be working hard to achieve this.

It's always like pulling teeth when dealing with stealers

Disagree on the first point. RS cars going to be full margin have to sell far less volume vs A3 diesesal or whatever where they have to do volume and will do a 'deal' more readily.

Completely agree re test drives though you are still at the behest of the franchise. I moaned at Audi UK about the complete lack of consistency in test drive experience between centres. In my case I was told by my local centre that their insurance didn't cover unaccompanied drives. Sounds like bollocks to me, but can't disprove.

I haven't personally asked for a test drive yet, but did however register my interest in the Audi website and as I'm an owner of the previous model, again registered on Audi uk's site you would think they would use these leads to push more. As at the end if the day sales are sales like anything else. But tbh most dealers don't like to work hard for their money.
I pretty sure I could be talked into it. So I hope they don't ring;)

Anth8910 exactly mate like you said. Also you'll be lucky to be talked into anything in fact you'll be lucky if you get a call from any of the north east garages at all.

Have been waiting for Teeside Audi to return my phone call for over 3 weeks now for a test drive. Customer satisfaction is not priority for this dealership. My Dad has just had his final service there after nothing but frustration with them. Signed up for the £40 MOT / warranty service. He arrived back to collect the car recently to be given the reply, can you wait half an hour your car is down the road at local ....... mot centre. :audibash:

I was staying at my parents in Newcastle and after a day out happened to be passing Newcastle Audi on the way back to their house. I pulled in and enquired after a test drive in a RS4 Avant. They had one to drive and so a time was set.
At the time I was thinking of a practical second car and had happened to turn up on the forecourt in my XK which they had commented on as it had a fairly distinctive Spires exhaust fitted letting the V8 sing a little.
A time was set for the next day and so I turned up 10mins early not wanting to mess them around only to be told the manager had taken the car home the previous evening and wasn't in today. No sorry no alternative given(not that I would have taken it).
Until reading this thread I had believed maybe it was just me but obviously not!

The four north east dealers are all owned by the same group, and the three I've used are pretty crap on the whole.
I did spot a gleaming RS6 at Newcastle Audi yesterday, did anyone manage a test drive?

I thought ok fair enough so asked him to arrange it again no reply a right bunch of idiots. We should just all pull up to the garage 1 day watch their faces drop. :audibash: :bigwave:

I agree they should have let you know, what you need to understand is, you live over 100 miles away from Newcastle at least, unlike on a used car, why would a new car customer want to order their new car from a dealership over 100+ miles away, when they have 10-20 dealers closer to their home. The salesman/woman rightly or wrongly didn't believe it would lead to a sale so made an excuse, the salespeople that test drive anyone and everyone are the busy fools that earn nothing, the ones that properly qualify a customer are the ones who can earn really quite well.
