I really dont understand why Audi have gone down that route - the optics pack must be one of the most selected options these days and as nice as it is to have the carbon bits - £4k.... think the carb wing mirrors are also massively overpriced.

also you get the 'quattro' grill which is a bit of a bother.

Shame the £10k ramics pack doesnt have the sports exhaust - you would only need that option, sunroof, wheels and paint. done.

Matt paint is a joke; a silly invention for road cars. I too am a bit miffed about audi dropping the black optics pack?!? I really don't get it.

My spec includes £8350 of options, so not too bad!

At 4.45, seems as tho the revs are bouncing off the limiter. sounds the dogs from outside.!

Agree on the mat paint
- cant polish it
- expensive
- looks horrid
- generally no or reduced warranty
- very fragile

I placed a £1k holding deposit when the car was first announced and went into the showroom to spec up a car this weekend. The UK brochure is rather limited on features though, and in particular it doesn't give you an option to turn the rear seats (which are set up as 2 sports seats) into a 3 person bench. Has anyone else placed the order, and how did you deal with this problem?

In the end I had to take the code from the German brochure and get them to apply the option, hoping that it would still work. Here's the brochure for anyone who needs it:

I'm pondering the 3 rear seat option so useful, thanks.

I've sent my dealer German link the winter tyres which are not listed UK

Did you spec sun roof? My dealer said vital option to protect resale but not one I want, especially since adds cost and weight.

And is anyone going for the Carbon pack or too expensive? Especially if clip a curb?

And what colours are people going for?

Don't buy in to this residual bollocks.

If you don't want a sunroof don't get a sunroof, I'm sure you won't get your money back later, particularly the longer you keep it.

Definitely specced the sunroof. My last RS6 was the first generation and didn't have it, and that was a bad move, both for use and resale. To be honest this is such a heavy car that it won't make that much of a difference.

The Carbon pack only looks good on bold colours (the blue in the brochure is great) but I went undercover with Daytona Grey Pearl, and carbon / black pack doesn't look as good as shiny metal with that. I'm also not a fan of the giant quattro logo you get with the design packs - I went for the debadged option.

My other two big issues that I gave up on were that:

1. I wanted the speed limiter raised, but without Dynamic Steering. I was happy to pay for the Dynamic Plus pack but just didn't want them to build the dynamic steering in. In the end I gave in.
2. I wanted the sports exhaust but with aluminium tips, instead of black. I gave up on this too - will just get Milltek after I get the car.

Have you been able to get anything "thrown in". Apparently they don't discount RS cars, but I'm pretty sure you can get them to give you something for free if you try hard enough..

I have a sunroof, I can count on one hand the number of times I've used it.

As for discount, if you're ordering an early car then no chance. The dealer will work on the basis that provided you don't order in Java Green or something similar he'll sell your car for full whack whether you want it or not. The RS cars are usually full margin, this effectively subsidises the mass market stuff. Of course there are exception, lingering stock or unwanted customer order in a slightly squiffy spec.

I would be asking the dealer to refer to Audi UK on the rear seat options. Taking a punt on a German order code is likely to end in tears.
