When you're in a B7 RS4 and can keep up with a 911 Turbo, you've got 'a gay'.

Reflected in the price though, right? Will need to speak to them in more depth about it and check what was damaged/replaced, I know a decent Porsche tech that has a lot of 996 turbo experience that can go take a look for me. What would this go for if it wasn't a 'V car'?

£28-40. Who knows, ask bookfather to enter the reg into Moneysupermarket.com for you.

I don't like the idea of an engine fire heat warping the chassis.

Sorry I meant is this not suspisciously cheap given the spec and mileage for a car that has never been crashed but just suffered an engine fire that resulted in a write off? Maybe the mileage of 15,000 is on the new engine.

It needs a good thorough inspection by somebody who knows the 996 I reckon, followed by a cheeky offer. I would want to know the extent of the fire, will need to see if the insurance company can supply their engineers report from that time. I am 50/50 on this, I'd welcome a few more opinions on this V Car engine fire thing, as one day I'd need to sell it! The only reason I am interested is because of the price/spec of this 996, so telling me to go and buy another £30k example won't work, as I'm not actively going out of my way to look for one. This one is local, cheap and I like the sound of the ceramic brakes, buckets and one off spec etc…

Amar, if you've really got £15k buring a hole in your back burner, leave it there ... sell your C5 and your Punto, and buy a C6 !

I haven't DK, plus will have to go to make way for this. I could and was going to get a C6 but would have to finance and I don't want to do that just yet, I’m going to wait for Mr. Depreciation to kick in then I'll have one. Not only that, but I really fancy getting along to some more track days, especially after the ring trip and reading your Cadwell report, and as you found out, the C6 isn’t the best track car and the R8 is too much ££££ for me yet.

I like the 996v2 most out of the watercooled but this isn't the way to buy one... or is it?
