Mrs' Boxster and Mclaren mp4-12c drive this morning

Post by 535dboy » Sun Jun 17, 2012 4:50 pm

Friend text over weekend and said he hadn't taken his car out for a while so we decided to go for an early morning blat.

Luckily (despite him having had it about 4 months so far) he has only done 600 miles in it so far and therefore he was still not allowed to give it absolutely full beans.

Ours has a 1000 miles on it now which means we can open it up a bit more.

Good fun but roads still quite busy despite us leaving at 6.45

First time he has seen the Boxster and it is the first time he hasn't slagged off one of my cars !

He was actually very impressed and said even he would own one!

Couple of poor pics from the iphone

Nice post, I really like your boxster.

I have to say though that if I had the funds for that type of car I probably wouldnt buy a Maclaren ..... having seen a few in the flesh its does nothing for me for some strange reason. Clearly its a stunningly capable car but I think I would have a 458 instead. I did once see a white one which looked nicer but it still isnt a patch on the 458 IMO. I would even go so far as to say the rear is actually quite ugly.

Anyway, I think I'm just twisted and bitter with envy

Both great cars ..... has he let you behind the wheel of the Mac ?

I am inclined to agree but he has done a few Ferraris so this is different

I too probably prefer the 458

Yes I get to drive all of them but I did turn down the chance to drive the F40 - couldn't have lived with myself if something went wrong!!!!

Depends on use really.
The macca really could be used every day and in town.
But if it's a weekend toy then yes, other cars would probably be at the top in that price bracket.

And there was me thinking he was another example of the benefits system

Seriously though, I really like the Mp4 and it would be in my dream garage.

That tickled me!

I'm yet to see an MP4 yet. Would love to though.

They have more presence in the flesh than the photos show

I have seen quite a few now at various places

I do quite like it in black, mega stealth

Bi difference between 'unemployed' and 'idle rich' ;)
