So I didn’t really gel with the Merc after the RS4 so I’ve ditched it and the Mrs and I have had a swap after 15 years so in that at last I have the sports car and she has the dog car !

Picked hers up in may this year.

Heavily loaded Macan S

I bought my wife a wee run around. New A1 115ps. I enjoy driving it more than the RS3, go figure. Great wee car. I am sure the ibiza will be more or less the same car.

So how is this working out day to day? What's being driven most? Reason for my question is I have a 911 on order, with my current daily being an RS6. While I haven't got to worry about this for 6 months ish, I'm not sure if I keep the RS6, use the 911 as a weekend toy, or use the 911 as a daily, and keep my current weekend toy.

The wife has a 2020 RR, but refuses to drive the RS6 as its 'too wide and has silly wheels on it' which she worries about curbing. I'm even considering getting the 911, then chopping the RS6 for a Cayenne in the hope that would be driven by both of us and spreading the mileage more across all cars.

Pretty well to be fair

Macan (may 19) has 9k on the clock but that included a trip to Switzerland and around last summer
911 (Oct 19) has 8k on the clock including drive around wales and Peak District this summer
Ibiza (nov 19) 7k

I think the 911 is such a good car daily that I’m not sure it is classed as a weekend fun car - it’s all too easy. I suspect your Aston is more of w weekend event

Is the cayenne any smaller than a RRS?

That's the issue. I think the 911 will be so good that it will be very useable daily, and would make the RS6 slightly redundant. She has a full fat RR, which is bigger than the Cayenne, but driving the RR is easy, its big, easy to see out of and surprisingly easy to park due to the driving position.

What I would want is to avoid using the RR as the only family car, particularly at weekends, as with the school run its clocking up 13k+ miles a year. The RS6 helps with that, but not if no one but me will drive it!

Am toying with options. It could be RR, 911, then keep the Aston (although that means the RR takes the load each weekend), or 911, RR and maybe something to chuck the child in as well instead of the RR, ie: RS3.

All first world problems I know!

Get a run around then
FFRR
992
Aston
RS3/golf R

It is nice to have a weekend car - I took the lotus out last weekend but came back knackered. The geo is set up for track so it made it tiring but I knew I’d had a drive.

At the weekend it was raining and the Porsches were clean and we were going to a country pub and then industrial estate. I didn’t want to take them and yet was more than happy take the seat. I also got in to a little dabble with a girl in an A1 - much more fun as you are working hard and yet broadly keeping to the speed limits!

I think you may be right! Now all I have to do is convince the Mrs that an additional car on the drive is the right way forward!

I actually quite fancy a Mini, something checkable and fun, or the Fiesta ST gets fantastic reviews

Yeah I did consider the fiesta but Mrs wanted auto for the dog car

I love the seat.
