Latest Boxter looks good, Cayman is the best looking of the lot. My local has one in orange...
Porsche definitely next stop for me. I didn't think it would be a big step up from Audi, reality is a big step up, interior quality and materials so much better.

Hi,
Please can I ask if you have had any issues with the GTS. Being one of the first, did it have sports chrono, PASM, etc.
I think I have decided to go down this road next, great luggage space, good looks, better MPG.
Only me and the missus, so perfect size. Much better storage than F Type.
An update on this would be much appreciated.
Regards,
Jason.

jason - its been flawless and we do not regret getting one (it was out 6th Boxster so we are biased

)
PASM, Sports Chrono, PSE etc are all standard on the GTS - because of the packaging the GTS spec we built worked out cheaper than the S spec we built

Many thanks,
I didn't bit more reading after I had sent message, I did read about the basic spec of the car.
I have seen 2 around £58k, but I think that is slightly over my budget.
I'm going try and resist the urge until new year, hopefully that will get it to around £50-52k.
After driving one at Sheffield Porsche, I was hooked on the pops and burbles. The feel of the car is fantastic.
Thanks again for the reply.

You'd get a 550PS V8 F TYPE for that money !

Hi Dave,
I know, but Something is not sitting right with me. I'm not sure what it is with the F Type, its about the layout in the cabin. It's not how I expect it to feel. I really need to get the choice right too, I can't afford to make the mistake of selling the next car in 12-18 months. I will have about 50% on finance and don't want to end up losing a bundle.
The Porsche feels really nice, and it seems a lot more agile. The boy in me wants the V8 rumble, but age is telling me to tone it down a bit.
Can't reach the pinnacle of what I wanted in a V10 R8 manual, it just too much money.
The residuals on the Porsche seem good too.
I'm just muddled up to be honest. Got to sell my car yet, so I have time to sort it out.
Cheers for the input anyway.
Jay.

Which has the better residuals?

You would be surprised on F TYPE residuals.
They got the volumes wrong on the converts initially so too many in the market.
This year only half as many verts sold to a coupe
The coupe residuals are the same as 911
As for a V10 R8 manual, they have totally stopped depreciating, so put your 50% finance into one of those as that's the best place for your money

I would love an R8 V10. No point beating around the bush, I simply cannot afford to pay finance and look after one.
I would want a good example, so that's going to be £70k.
I have a budget of around £50k
Having had Audi's for 10 years now, I think I am ready for a change anyway.
When I get back off hols I will go and test drive the F Type again, but this time the convertible.
Cheers.

Its a lovely drive, I preferred the Boxster S however
Also check the "glove box" sized boot space is enough for your needs .. we decided the storage in a F Convertible was so lacking, the car is unusable - no way you could even consider going away for a weekend with even a small roll bag

That is going to be a problem for us then. We like a 2-3 week driving holiday most years, and the wife like to take quite a lot of luggage.
Do Porsche make a luggage set that fit those compartments? There is quite a lot of space, but I can't see most cases fitting in there.
I have spotted this car, looks a nice example.

A good V10 is does not have to be £70k!
