F - the Dales

today was the Yorkshire Dales !

early start, 6:30am woke up, put on my slippers having already pissed myself during the night, and hit the road, ... 140 miles to the meeting point. Sat on the motorway at 77 ...34MPG !! amazing

met Marc & Will at a nice farm shop for a customary full Yorkshire breakkie ... so cheap compared to down south ! Marc nearly ate through the whole kitchen.

Anyhow, hit the roads, and its pouring with rain ... temps are down to 4 degrees, so I'm feeling anxious in the RWD 550PS 680Nm car with x2 quattro RS 4's one of which is one Winter tyres !!

We set off towards the B6255, Ingleton to Hawes run.

WOW ! awesome road !

First impressions were "damn, this had lots of 'jumps' " that really unsettles a RWD car in the pouring rain, as anytime you get air, you hit the tarmac and can go into a spin ... that kept me on edge ! :drink:

the quattro boys were stuck to the road like glue.

The weather got worse !

cars looking good thou , mean and angry !

:kissmyrings:

loved the B6255, although in heavy rain I can only imagine the fun in the wet !

carried on up to the Buttertubs Pass

Incredible scenery on this road. a sh.it scary drop on one side of the pass thou, so definitely not a road to attack at 10/10s !!

Cars looked good at the top of the pass thou

man I was glad to have heated steering wheel as my fingers nearly dropped off taking those photos !

Carried on climbing up the peaks until we got to a small pub which claims to be the highest pub in England, and where people were marooned for 3 days in 2009 after NYE as they were snowed in !!

had a beer and then cracked on

Back towards the B6255

We stopped and did some drive by vids and I tried to wear my tyres to the threads

:notworthy:

Really impressed with the speed you can go in the F-TYPE in such conditions on P-Zero's ! altho the quattro boys weren't trying, I had no issue keeping up, well except for the really steep inclined hair pin where I had to engage "snow mode" ESP and even then had wheel spin !

Really good run, the sound of the F-TYPE is incredible !! pop pop pop pop !!

Great to see Marc and Will - both RS's are awesome !!

Have some vids will post

:biggrin3:

As Dave has already said, this was a cracking run out!

That F-Type is something else, the noise is amazing and had myself and Marc laughing out loud with all the pops and bangs.
