Yes, more museum history than recent history!!

Can't see Porsche losing any sleep, they won't lose what is a moderate market share.

I would have bought a F type cab last year if the predicted residuals weren't so woeful. I think it was around 40% after 3 years. The Cayman I bought was set at 70% after 2 years and 55% after 3 years. The F Type list price was only £15k more than the Cayman, but the deposit and monthly was double.I realise I might have had more equity left in the Jag than the Porka but still a huge difference.I will look at the figures again for the Coupe, hopefully the £7/8 k reduction in list price and better residuals will hopefully bring it closer to the Cayman figures, if not then I will pass again.I'll also look at other Finance companies as Jags interest rate wasn't exactly enticing.

991 turbo S is 140k and in fairness would wipe the floor with the F type on pretty much every level bar looks, and even then it's a big improvement on the 997.

If I was choosing between the two, which I'm not, I'd still take the 911.

Turbo S is not the Turbo.

I have a massive soft spot for the 911.

But that flat six doesn't sound like the F Type R, the flat six noise has never really excited me.

The noise this makes is that fecking amazing it's my ultimate WANT right now.

True, but I'd still expect a plain turbo to disappear. And it's still 120k.

Is there a market? That'd put it against some serious, established metal. 911 turbo-s or used 458 or f-type? Can't see it competing.

its seriously on my list for after my C63 - simply looks stunning and sounds even better than the AMG - can't beat that. 911 was on my list but pales in comparison (imo).

I'm in agreement with the styling and sound of the F-type However.

I have a friend that works for Jaguar Land Rover as a design engineer and on the development of the F-Type; the result has left him looking to jump ship as soon as possible. He came from an aerospace background and has been massively disappointed by the "cheap skate" attitude towards the development of the car.

Style over substance seems to be the conclusion.

Im not sure that would stop me buying one should the opportunity arise though.

JLR don't have the funds of someone like Audi when they made the R8. But that's not to say its not a great car, you only need to see the vids of the Coupe reviews at Barcelona to see how we'll set up the car is. It might not have had the billions of bespoke development but it will still be a mighty fine car and score 9/10 in desirability which is this segment is half the battle

I work in Aerospace and the game is completely different. Of course development is different and the budgets are different.

An aircraft is much more complex and hence huge budgets are needed.
