As I said im still drawn to the car and think its a great looking its just that from an engineering point of view it appears to be more of a compromise than perhaps it needed to be.

Material choice leading to unnecessary weight being one issue as its pretty lardy compared to the competition and the lazy design of the V6 motor being the biggest gripe.

Something like 150-200kgs difference between the V6 F-type R and a 911 carrera making the F-Type slower than a Boxster S.

The difference between the V6 & V8 is just 50kgs and i have been told that is essentially because its the same engine block (V8) with just 2 cylinders left out.

I still think its a great looking car and wouldnt drive it in such away that the above would make much difference, i just think its a little disappointing.

Difference between v8 r8 and V10 is only 50kg or so.... Are you expecting it to drop half it's weight for 2 cylinders?!

Not really what i was suggesting.

It was implied that the V6 block has been left oversized when it could have been made smaller.

And a manual box! Although it would seem you can either have one or the other, not both together....
