RS4 to C63

Post by Oak » Tue May 22, 2012 5:28 pm

Gents, have many people moved onto the C63 and what do people reckon?

Just seen a nice Black estate one but am wondering if it is worth the extra £10k it will cost and whether I will miss the 4wd.

Also how do people get on with Merc dealers these days?

Thanks in advance.

Just switched to C63 Coupe from RS4, had it about 3 weeks. Difference is night and day I've found. Completely different animal in rear wheel drive form on the AMG but definately worth it. Dealer was exemplary also. I did the factory collection which is amazing.

I'll add a full review to the B7 section when I get a chance.

Not owned one but driven a few.

Different beasts, get some drives under your belt and make the call it is simply the best way to decide. I was considering the C63 estate but for me I knew my car would end up in a location where I needed 4wd (NZ and I do a fair bit of skiing)...plus I also love Audis :bigblink: I still love the sound of that big Merc V8

Suggest you buy shares in your favourite tyre company though :thumb:

Got my eye on a C63 after the S6.

My brother works for Merc and took me out in one; have to say that I was really quite impressed.

Talking of NZ, I was down at Portsmouth Merc, they had a Daytona RS4 saloon with 67k on it that was being shipped out to NZ which must cost a bit.

Mines in a container to NZ now.

£1200 plus insurance.

Cheap as chips. Especially if you have owned it for a year here and then there is no duty or VAT on it.

Loads of car dealers in NZ are shipping high end cars over from the UK at the moment as the pound is so weak against the NZ dollar....shouldnt last long!

I have to say the handling of the C63 is totally different to the RS4 be prepared when entering corners at RS4 speed for major oversteer and lots of smoke from the tyres
Currently Mondeo ST155 & Titanium X Sport

RS4 Phantom Black, Black Optics, Tech Pack, Milltek Non Res Non Valved

That sounds like I might be better hanging on for the RS5 prices to drop a little more. I am worried I might miss the grip & all weather capability.

Still I would like the Auto and a generation newer tech.
