Interesting about the golf I would have thought it would be a little better than you have found
I think the A45 is a proper little drivers car, good fast bit of fun
I was a little disappointed also, it suits the Wife as she has a 60mile round trip to work (on maternity leave at the mo) we also tried the A3 but you get more spec for your money with the Golf.
It sounds a proper little Hot Hatch (although not so little any more) other than an RS3 or Golf R I don't think there is much out there to match it within its class. Would be a good Giggle round some welsh mountain roads
You'd be lost without RIV, put it into storage and take it out once a month just to re-acquaint yourself with a little Nirvana
