Personally I had expected a bit more poke from the A45 and didn't find it as blisteringly fast as the reviewers have made it out to be. I also didn't like that iPad thing.

Desperately hoping the new RS 3 will have more poke as I'm likely to get one.
I test drove on track, it's quick!!
Plus with a rebellion tune they are doing sub 4 0-60
Going to get a tune on it?

Don't get me wrong they aren't slow I just wanted a bit more. Tune sounds like it would really wake it up.

Might be selling RIV in the spring time, due to me starting my house build( don't think I'm going to be using the car for the best part of 7 months) i will be sharing the a45 and using my van. If so a tune will be done, just plug in and off you go, undetectable

That's the thing, charge it is great, but the cost of that and the potentially sale value of RIV and you have yourself a health wedge for something else like you say...

My wife has a MK7 Golf GT TDI and to be honest it's a little bit pants. Steering feels a bit disconnected, it turns in well but you just don't get any feedback. Can get a bit unsettled mid bend, ideal for ferrying the kids about and daily commute to work.
Quite like the AMG A45 sound nice popping and banging through the gears.
Interesting about the golf I would have thought it would be a little better than you have found
I think the A45 is a proper little drivers car, good fast bit of fun
I was a little disappointed also, it suits the Wife as she has a 60mile round trip to work (on maternity leave at the mo) we also tried the A3 but you get more spec for your money with the Golf.

It sounds a proper little Hot Hatch (although not so little any more) other than an RS3 or Golf R I don't think there is much out there to match it within its class. Would be a good Giggle round some welsh mountain roads :bigwave:

You'd be lost without RIV, put it into storage and take it out once a month just to re-acquaint yourself with a little Nirvana :bigblink:

Tried a CLA45 as an alternative when looking for a B8 S4. It handled better than I expected and liked the up shift noise, but it needed a better exhaust and didn't feel as good top end as a higher displacement engine does. That said, I think (and according to the reviews) it would be a much better package in the A45 and more aggressive. I do like them a lot. No A45's available at that time though.

Was out in a friend's A45 AMG with the Racelogic Box.

2-up, stock car, we recorded a 0-60 best of 4.16s, 0-100 in under 10 seconds and a 1/4 mile of about 12.25s.

The pops and burbles on overrun is something else!

I really like this Revozport kitted one for sale at £45k:

It's a little over the top but that's why I like it, like max power has gorwn up a little (but not a lot).

Even with that spoiler I quite like it. Which do you prefer driving overall? Maybe too early to tell.
