Macan is a nice piece of machinery though. If you can find one this decade.

I get the point, kids climbing all over doesn't do a lot for any car.
It's nice, only in turbo form though
Guess she will end up with one after the merc

Turbo not enough of a step up over petrol S, in my view. GTS will be the place to be, when it arrives.

Going back to the spoiler on the merc, it's just stuck on so can be fairly easily removed, she basically just specced everything you can for the car.
She was in two minds about it,the trouble is a normal a45 looks a little dull
TBH its the perfect little car for the rd's where I live in east Horsley, most are narrow twisty back roads or country lanes, I reckon it's going to be perfect car for her. We have done the range rover sport vibe before and she just found it too big
And felt nervous driving it.
I guess like 90% of most women in big suv's

Agreed. But women generally care more about image than speed

My wife has a MK7 Golf GT TDI and to be honest it's a little bit pants. Steering feels a bit disconnected, it turns in well but you just don't get any feedback. Can get a bit unsettled mid bend, ideal for ferrying the kids about and daily commute to work.
Quite like the AMG A45 sound nice popping and banging through the gears.

Interesting about the golf I would have thought it would be a little better than you have found
I think the A45 is a proper little drivers car, good fast bit of fun

Personally I had expected a bit more poke from the A45 and didn't find it as blisteringly fast as the reviewers have made it out to be. I also didn't like that iPad thing.

Desperately hoping the new RS 3 will have more poke as I'm likely to get one.

Do they stand up to tune better than the RS3 did?

Various problems with Haldex, propshafts and gearboxes.
