Another RS4 to C63 defector.

Put my name onto the last, unregistered C63 AMG Edition 507 in the UK.
Currently sitting in Mercedes Benz world down in Brooklands, should be with me in about 10 days!

Like the RS4, haven't driven or been in one being driven.
I'm sold on that exhaust note alone!

Does that mean you’re shifting the RS ?

the 507 sound mental enjoy the toy when it arrives
might be worth while getting some driver training in the C63 to get you into the rear wheel driving mind set
i know i would be as ive been in 4 wheel drive cars for years now and a rear wheel car would probably catch me out at some point

AMG should be with me on Wednesday. 3 more sleeps!

This is my first foray into RWD machines.
Before the RS4 I had an Escort Cossie and before that a 4x4 Sapphire Cossie so have always had the an element of a safety net!
Luckily enough the 507 includes an AMG driving experience - think I'll go with then one at Spa!

Nice - enjoy the 507, I still am - 6 months and 4000 miles in - best car I have owned thus far.

What did you get - Coupe/Saloon/Estate?

Aye the sound is brutal.
Not the same low frequency burble as the RS4, a much more sharper rasp and a bit of a bark when you rev it.

When you flip it into manual flappy paddle mode, it'll give a wee blip of throttle when changing down.
After a good rip out the road, down shifts are usually followed by lovely cracks and pops out the exhaust!

Totally different beast to the RS4.
I'm off to Edinburgh this weekend with it so will do a wee comparison write up when I get back.

One thing I've noticed already is the amount of tech (it is a good few years younger than the B7 so as expected)
Most of it is safety orientated, usually in the form of driver aids / assist but non are all that intrusive.
Some a bit OTT but cool nontheless.

It also does the little headlight dance when you start up like the B7's.

Was close to pushing the button on an AMG last year as was between an F10 M5 & E63 but the interior of the M5 won it over for me. The AMG however certainly sounds better.

I'm still wanting a C63 and have done for years, just haven't been able to get the balls to swtich from AWD. The 507 really does good (apart from the side Sticker). Do they sound even better than the standard C63?
