I just want similar performance, newer for around the same budget.I hit the tree between 35 & 40mph and Quattro was zero help building up the collision.

IF (big if) I go to the dark side I'm pretty sure I'll be back with another Audi in the future.

Can you believe that the main reason I have been so against publishing my thoughts is cos of you lot.....my forum buddies! Knew I'd get a ribbing but a change is as good as a rest. If the right RS comes along I'll jump at it, if not I have no choice but to look at other marques.
Well done for "taking it on the chin" buddy.
(You'll be doing more than that if you go for the M3 though*)

Difficult call, that I'm sure we all understand. Not many alternatives (realistically priced), are there.

* Just don't wear those footy shorts of yours or your arse will look like a ripped-out fire-place after your M3 Meets.

Ha ha,
A few phone pics which don't show the massive crease in the floor and roof. Amazing what a tree can do at that speed.

Trees are one of the worst things you can hit. Then can be relatively thin but (as you can see) have no give what so ever.

IIRC he said he aquaplanned... not alot 4wd can do when it's not touching the road!

It's horrible and brings a tear to my eye every time I look at it. It also makes me thankful for being unhurt and for being in such a well built car. I didn't take any pictures of the interior as it was a wreck but if someone had have been in that passenger seat they would still be in hospital now. Apparently only the boot itself was the only undamaged panel and the pictures don't show how 'bent' the car was. Recovery company said (before two sets of golf clubs disappeared from the boot) that when they were called to a head on with a tree they were expecting me to be getting cut out of the car.

Very VERY lucky I'm from Harefield.

You'll may understand why I'm struggling to get into another RS.

Take it to Bradford, they'll buff those dings out and sell it on for £30k, no worries.

Fair one Shane, do what you got to do. I personally like the C63 they do have good road presence.

Enjoy the M3

Trees or lamp posts are pretty bad for the RS4. Wonder if it is only daytona grey that gets mangled ? 3 years ago next month I aquaplaned. Doesn't matter what you drive (4WD) in the wet its a different story.

I do remember this. Is it Laura??

If I recall you weren't so lucky to walk away unscathed (hope I'm wrong).

Agreed though, I think it would have happened under those circumstances regardless of car.

Tank would be a safe option I think.
