Tim Schrick is a racing driver and the other guy Hempfling I would guess is not. Also seen another couple of Audi tests by Schrick and he seems to hate RS!
Would rather have exclusivity of a rs6 (especially a plus)

More gears, less transmission loss, faster shifts (if they weren't already in a low gear, time will be lost by RS6).

If you look at the video you'll see the camera zooms out which massively exagerates the difference.

Even a mapped plus can't match an M5 when it's dry...thats the sad truth. The M5 did seem to get a jump in that video, probably the RS6 only reacted when he saw the M5 start to go. Even less of a chance of keeping up that way.

I wonder what the WHP of the M5 is? I know when I put my car on the RRoad with a Stage one map almost 100bhp is lost giving only 400WHP.

Having driven both (own an M5, just sold a C5):

There is a very simple answer. They are traveling above 80mph where the 6 really starts to suffer drivetrain losses, ditching up to 25% of its power before the power even gets to the road. The M5 has a very efficient drivetrain and has minimal losses compared to the quattro. The M5 is also much easier to keep in the power band at this speed and the power is relentless. There is nothing below £150/£200k that will beat an M5 above 100mph (see youtube for proof vs Lambos etc). Even Nigels C6, with its 760+bhp could only VMax 7mph higher than a 560bhp M5 at the last VMAX. Thats how efficient the M5 is. Had the race been from 0 to 60 the 6 would have left the M5 behind by a nose or so due to the overwhelming torque. They both have their uses.

Its taken me 3 months to realise just how good the BMW is, but now ive found its sweet spot there is no going back for now.

507 bhp BMW
480 BHP RS6

Question?

circa 450lbft+ RS6
circa 320lbft M5

Its not as simple as who has more power. My M5 would have easily beaten my old 508bhp RS6 on the road above 70mph. However the RS would have toasted the M5 from the lights with its mapped 550lbft.

We still need to see how ours run together eddie, with mine running at 540 bhp with 620lbft would be an interesting comparison.

If your gearbox lasts (lol) then yeah i reckon that would be an interesting comparison. Out of interest, what was your wheel horse power? That would give us an idea on paper.
