Yep, I've never seen the attraction of living in the city myself. Don't get me wrong I understand why people do it but for me I enjoy walking out my front door and seeing fields and wildlife. I think the only thing that wants to kill me out here are probably the cows if you wander into their field!

Anyway I have de-railed your thread enough. We have'nt joined this forum to talk about adult things like mortgages, we joined so we can talk about how much money we have burned owning Audi RS' and keeping it hidden from the wife.

In hindsight (always a winner) I should’ve been patient, kept the C6 (and tuned it!) and then get into a C7 now the prices have come down a bit.
Sometimes I really really wish I wasn’t a petrolhead and just had an A to B car and be happy. I’d save SO much money....

I hope you slap yourself every time you have that thought!

Who wants to be normal, if it isn't cars it would be something else you spend your money on.

Just to wrap things up a ‘Command Decision’ has been made and for on e using my head not my heart. Holding deposit gone down on this:

Much as I was lusting after an Audi RS product, the RS7 that I drove was going to cost more to run, more in monthly payments, and also is a big heavy lump that really felt its weight and the tech and interior was starting to feel it’s age. Beemer is bang up to date and handles like a dream (albeit it the dry!). Have to live without LED lights unfortunately but the car looks the absolute nuts I think. It’s also going to be cheaper to run and only 23 pm more than my 2.5 year old POS A45 (which is now sold and I get rid of it next week...won’t be sorry to see the back of it at all). I considered the C63S but apart from the engine and exhaust noise (and they handle quite well apparently although not as sharp as the M) I cannot stand the gearbox and operating systems in Mercs. Absolute turbo dogsh1t. The newer ones are much improved but again it’s ££££. Plus the A45 has really put me off Mercedes for the time being!
Really didn’t think I was going to be back in a RWD and expected to be going back to Audi but the ones I really want are either too expensive or will depreciate too much (the S5 really impressed me but when you look at how much they have depreciated from new it’s crazy). Plus the M3 CP is ‘special’ enough away from standard models and the one I have has the exterior carbon front and rear diffusers which really make it stand out.
I’ll be back with Audi at some point no doubt, I’ll put up a review of the A45 in the ‘adversary’ section as a warning to anyone considering one (it has NOT been a happy and warm ownership experience unfortunately).
As always-thanks for the advice and banter! Image

Ha yes I’ll Have to adjust my driving style a bit and get ready for a bit of ‘Skid recognition and control’! The CP is a massive move forward I read from the stock M3/4which are notoriously twitchy and easily unsettled and tail happy. The Competition Pack brings revised springs and adjustable dampers (plus a load of other kit-for £3k Extra over stock it really is a no brainer to add it from new) and a common description is the CP is. ‘The M3/4 it should always have been’.
When it gets damp then I’l have to rein it in a bit am sure and that’s where AWD really excels.

Yes the A45 has been a massive mistake and without a doubt the most overrated, frustrating and disappointing car I’ve ever owned. I’m relieved I didn’t buy from new as I would have felt mugged-they really are not worth the asking price and a one trick pony. My one was around £54k new but at around the 2 year old mark I paid £36.5k so my pants are only halfway down my legs (although am having to pay more than I’d like just to clear the finance deficit-they are not holding their value at all). Just not with the asking price for what you actually get....AMG should be ashamed.
If you’re 21 and wear your SnapBack hat backwards then it would be a great car (loud music is a problem as the Harmon Kardon system is absolutely <beep>-unlike in BM’s and Minis where it’s great).

And yes it really works well (Silverstone Blue II with interior and exterior carbon bits plus black extended Merino leather interior), car just leapt out at me when I walked in the showroom and looked so much more impressive than the all blacked out ones.
