Took some brave pills and took the M140 for a morning blast on empty roads. Have to say, the winter tyres did a great job of putting down 340PS WOT, kept hold of grip pretty well !

Yeah it was very quiet out this morning. Quattro and PSS were still very interesting.
How much longer is the M140 lease?

It’s 4yr PCP. Had it since March now.

It’s a keeper for the full 4 years certainly.

great little car to have in the fleet.

Looks like fun was had and top marks for not calling it an M-Lite, that really grinds my gears.

What winter tyres did you put on DK?

Pirelli Sotto Zero

Was impressed

Enough front end grip to have the confidence to smash the throttle and see if the rears would let go!

Sounds good, I ditched the conti’s on mine before it tried to kill me, running ps4’s Great on a dry day.. might get a spare set of wheels for some winters and try them out... just getting used to the rear wheel drive after having Quattro for years, have to say the m2 is quite roar and exciting to drive.. taken a while but I love it now.

In the wet and cold you need to short shift and drive the torque with the RWD

Continental Sport Contact 6? I thought they were supposed to be pretty good?

(albeit not in the ice and snow!)

Dads Audi came on Continental Sport Contact 5s, they are okay, but he is swapping back to his favoured Goodyear Eagle Aysmmetric 3s when they are worn out

Big trouble with the M135/140i is a flawed chassis. Tuned they are very lairy (some may enjoy that more) and in the wet a real handful. Engine and GB are great and lots of flexibility. Even a diff can’t sort the chassis out and an AWD car in the twisties will leave it for dust.

Have to say that since I moved from BMW to Audi RS and now AMG I don’t miss that little yellow triangle flashing away all the time on the dashboard....
