RS5 gone, hello M4!
Re: RS5 gone, hello M4!
It's not the right time of year for the M3/M4, too wet and slippy
Quattro is superb at this time of year, especially where I live (Anglesey), but I'm bored to death of Audi.
I went to Betws y Coed for a spin yesterday and the M4 performed very well is sub zero temperatures on the roads up through the mountains, but with it being brand new I was taking it to the max, and I want to get to know the car well before going mental
It will always be the argument between Audi and BMW, lots of reviews for and against for both, but at the moment I couldn't be happier with the M4!

Re: RS5 gone, hello M4!
The others don't tend to go down the 0% APR route like BMW, often used by more mainstream brands
Re: RS5 gone, hello M4!
The same deals that are available on the M4 are available on the M3 according to the t'internet.
Just wish Audi would do more with deals on the RS's & less with S's to balance their book/production, but hey ho as their loss is others gain & if you're after an Audi S it's a good thing.
Don't buy into the Marketing hype about Audi Quattro being all that in the Winter. Any performance car with big phat tyres is going to struggle in bed weather. AWD in fact gives many a bad driver over confidence & that's not clever. Best rule in bad weather no matter what you're driving is to adjust your driving style. A friend of mine has just chopped in his FFRR for a Jag F-Type & reckons in all but the very worst weather (that being the kind of weather sensible people generally don't leave the house in), the Jag is the better handling car as the RR carried so much weight & had i think 22" wheels that if traction was lost even for a moment then you very quickly became a passenger along for the ride.
Enjoy the car & be sure to update once she's run it. I'd imagine she'll be a lot more fun than your outgoing RS5.

Re: RS5 gone, hello M4!
But they do lop a significant chunk off the OTR cost which equates to a similar deal overall. I believe Merc are doing 0% on some of the new AMG's & certainly were at the end of 2014 & BMW have only offered 0% on certain M cars a couple of times as before that the deals were weighted with higher residuals to support good PCP & Contract Hire deals which is what Audi do constantly but on their mass produced vehicles.HYFR wrote:The others don't tend to go down the 0% APR route like BMW, often used by more mainstream brands
TBH, it's only really Audi (RS's) that stand out as all their competitors obviously want to sell higher volumes. In my mind this makes for bad business but what do i know as i'm sure Audi know what they're doing (usually).

Re: RS5 gone, hello M4!
£10k off an M4 is impressive, I thought such high discounts were only available on the M5/M6. Nice car btw, I owned a E46 years ago but never liked the last M3, the new model is much nicer.
Re: RS5 gone, hello M4!
It's been mentioned on an M4 forum a few have popped up today around the £54k mark, I feel slightly smug that I got such a good deal

lol, yes, big thread on that over on Bimmerpost.
Apparently the lad turned all aids of and floored it with no experience of powerful RWD cars, schoolboy error!
