Turbo cars are notoriously variable as they are sensitive to the conditions at the time. As such I guess they take a 'worst case' when issuing figures to ensure that its a minimum output.
Either that or the dct box is screwing with figures on the dyno. Don't bmw's charge the battery when coasting? If so this would add extra losses not there during acceleration. Just a guess...

If the battery was taking a charge of say 10A, you'd have an additional load of 0.14Kw or 0.188bhp so that's negligable. Also that's wrong anyway, the alternator is always spinning with the engine, so always charging.

But you're right about being sensetive, any lack of airflow or warm temps going through the intercoolers will loose a lot of power, if the fuels even slightly off it will knock and <beep> timing.

Even normal alternators vary load depending on the demands of the electrical system. But with the bmws I'm sure I read about their efficiency thingy that used regenerative generation off the crank instead of the alternator.

I don't think that the coastdown part of the test translates directly to a given hp but is factored in as an overall efficiency loss. Granted though likely to be small depending on whats going on.

Edit: just read as well that the bmw aircon and alternator is disconnected when under high throttle.

Bored of Audi's for the time being. At the end of the day, it's a very quick BatMansWilly (can't say i've ever heard a BMW called that before so it must be original) :bigblink:

As above, where?

To get North of 700bhp in the RS6 you'd need a whole lot more work doing (& money spending) than what i've spent on purely a remap. My car is totally stock other than the DMS custom tune. If i started down the aftermarket exhaust, intakes, turbos & intercoolers route i'm sure with further custom tuning it would be heading towards 800 but i've no desire to go further than just i guess it would be referred to as a Stage 1 map.

691BHP!!

Whilst perusing MRC's farce book page. I was thinking more of torque, than power, but still, 700+ and 1000Nm torque from a map.

I think the your car got awesome results, didn't think it could get that high, I bet mated with the dct this is one hell of a car now!

If you want to compare the figures with mrc then you did make 700 but in ps and not hp. Looking on there page the c7 figs fluctuate, some get 702ps and 860nm and another had 687odd ps and 960nm.

Not 100% sure what torque the C6 RS6 produces stock but the MRC website says a 130nm gain.

The C7 RS6 figure (torque looks unusually high even when compared to every other car they reference), however it's still a Stage 2 gain so other aftermarket components will contribute to those outputs.

Gains on mine are 138nm & 130bhp which i'd say from a stage 1 tune (albeit custom) is far from shabby. The 1000nm MRC Rs6's have had thousands spent on them & have numerous aftermarket components, including turbos.

Nah, C6 makes 1000Nm with map alone.

W8 I was comparing only the c7 to yours, I think comparing the C6 to yours is pointless as it's now the old one.

And yes, the c7s have a upgraded filter to get the power you got so good going on yours.

Doodle, c6 stage 2 you need filters also and mrc have to have in tesco fuel or numbers are not reached.

OK, my bad, but filters is not exactly major surgery.

Yours only has a 51BHP uplift seeing as the baseline was 640BHP. Justsayin'.
