Well after a couple of weeks of decision making & then a further week negotiating i've finally pressed the button on my order for the A8's replacement in November.

Decided in the end i fancied another bash with Munich's finest & have ordered the following:

BMW F10 M5 Saloon S63 4.4i MY14 LCi
Singapore Grey
Silverstone Extended Merino Leather

Options:
Bootlid Operation, Powered
Loudspeaker System - Harman/Kardon Surround Sound
BMW Apps Interface

The car is being built to order & expected delivery is 12 weeks so will dovetail perfectly with the end of Contract of my current A8.

May have to watch this clip over & over until collection day. Is also a great review on Top Gear (Season 18 - Episode 7) but the one on YouTube appears broken:(

Is Singapore a new colour , not heard of that one.

Don't think so. It's only available on the M5 currently & a fairly recent addition to BMW's colour range but i think it was available from the launch of the F10 M5.

Yep, keeping the OEM 19's as personally i think they look better than the 20's & most of my driving is long motorway cruises so didn't want to stiffen the ride.

Not really, have spent plenty with Audi over the years & will replace our other Audi (Q5) with an SQ5 next year.

For the same money I'm paying for the new M5, Audi could only offer a Bi-turbo S-Line A6. Bit of a no brainer really:) If they could have come close with the M5's Audi equivalent, the RS6 then I'd likely have one of those coming in November instead.

Ha ha, as if on both fronts. November 2014 more likely!

Is strange that Audi are great at deals on low-mid range cars but fail for higher value models.

They don't offer RS or R models on Contract Hire & thus don't offer financial support. Can get them through Brokers but costs are ridiculous.

Current market deals on M5's & E63 AMG's but Audi not playing:(

Must be why the roads are littered with brand new A4's, 5's & 6's

Lease deal was a no brainer for me
BMW have certainly managed to get a great offer out there and its moving metal for them.
If Audi could have offered a similar deal on the RS4 or RS6 i would have had one.
However i'm very pleased with the M5 its a mental machine and a great family car to boot.

LOL when i was waiting i must have watched that Autocar test a million times
Theres also a 5th gear one with Vicky but its hard to find a copy that with play in the UK on u tube

Is a shame Audi don't offer Contract Hire deals on RS cars, they're missing a trick.

Good news, my order has been pulled forward so should be collecting at the end of October. Audi have confirmed they'll let me return the A8 a month early so all's good.

Did get an offer back from Audi that they'd match the F10 M5 deal with an S6 Saloon. I said an RS i'd consider but matching a £55k car against a £75k is hardly gonna make me think twice.

Is kind of fun wiling away the weeks before collection, learning about the new toys i'll have to play with & trawling the interweb for videos:)

Update from the dealer:) My car is being built & could arrive up to 3 weeks early.

This raises a dilemma as off to Spa/Ring early Oct & chances are the car could now be with me by then.

What dilemma?
