Tracker engineers have inspected the car today.
The tracker system had been found by the scumbags and removed - it was not recovered with the car.
Shocking

The Scum were bailed and walked pending enquiries

So i'm left with big bills and a big mess to sort
Sorry lads but this is my last performance car - no car is worth this hassle

Roy, I`m not being facetious here but have you considered getting dogs. There may be a legitimate reason such as allergy etc but believe me 2-3 rottweilers bearing down on you when they go into protect our pack mode is going to make even the cojones on the most brazen thief shrink...

Yes they smell and yes they molt but they are loyal, protective and obedient and they will as weve sadly seen in the states lay down their lives to protect their owners..

No ads mate no idea where it was
BMW had the tracker fitted before i took delivery.

Yep also thought of a dog but not sure how we could fit one in to our busy lives which is a shame cause i was brought up with em and miss em big time and trying to talk the mrs into it is another story.
A nice weimeraner would be just the job

Well unless she has a phobia I would simply point to exhibit a..your stolen vehicle. I appreciate the busy life may not be conducive but you can get dog walkers. .I have bred and now own boxers and occasionally when I know I will have a busy clinic day will pay a dog walker to take mine out..

In any case, glad your car is back and everyone is ok..hope your kids arent too traumatised by the experience either. I would strongly consider getting a dog/s. All the best...

Never knew you were looking for an RS Roy. I would deffo have given you 1st shout. No idea where its gone, I thought it might have popped up on a forum or PH's but nothing.

Yeah the family thing deffo makes you think twice about high value cars

Still running it in done about 800miles so far. Feels WAY slower then the RS but not been over 5k yet so maybe i will have a nice surprise this time home once I get the service done. Other than that I really like it. Handling is mental and I reckon its going to be fun to drive and its full of cool things. The HUD is fantastic, every car should have that.

New Defender? Thats been talked about now for at least the last ten years? Any details of specs?

Much like Lotus trying to pension off the Elise two or three years ago with a bigger heavier 'replacement' model, I'd much rather the classic Defender actually continues production for farm / mountain rescue / utilitarian purposes etc etc and a blank-sheet new-model enters production alongside the old one (think Caterham CSR alongside the Caterham 7 Classic). Keep the old one for pure off road activities, give the new one modern technology from its big brothers such as HDC and air suspension / variable ride height for example

Landrover could hardly moan about development costs of keeping the old model going alongside a new model - its barely changed in 30 years

Think its been delayed Ian, something about the chassis and deciding when it should be built ??
Wish they'd just get on with it

Here's a pic anyway - looks good to me

Looks good, albeit with usual comedy concept car wheels there. Hope they keep it agricultural enough and that it doesn't turn into a Chelsea tractor / fashion accessory - Landrover have Freelander and Evoque for those audiences!

Hi Roy,

Heard most of this story off Grant and shocked me, felt gutted for you.

What's the latest, have you kept the car, did you manage to get it fixed?

BTW - a car is only registered as stolen recovered by the insurance if they pay out as a loss, not if they pay out for repairs. If they pay for repairs it's just classed as a claim against your policy for something which is your fault!
