F10 M5 LCI still no rear grip lol
S7 black Edition Too big and heavy
S3 8V FL DSG 310ps, road noise is a joke
RS3 8P Rubbish
C7 RS6 Fantastic car but missed playing
GTR R35 800bhp, too extreme, crazy fast though
911 Turbo Remapped. Hated it
F10 M5, awesome but no rear grip
RS6 V10 700BHP crazy
Porsche Cayenne Turbo S 600bhp

Isn't the same noise the B8 rs4/5 and rs6 makes - doesn't it dump some fuel in the exhaust somewhere?

yes mine makes that noise, its like a fart.

Then when you floor it, let go floor it let go and then floor it again when it changed the bang from the back is mental.

I test drove a M5 today - wow they are fast. My initial thoughts:

very comfortable - the seats felt great instantly
quick - errr..super quick- really, really fast in comparison to my M3 - in the dry traction control light came on accelerating on a straight - decided to go with traction fully on for the whole test drive after that :)
Looks - nice - interior is nice
Size - yes, it is bigger than a M3 and you can tell just by looking at the bonnet as you are driving
handling - didn't get a real chance to hoon about TBH but it feels planted but it also feels heavy.
Exhaust sound - disappointing - it does a nice pop and burble when changing up at high revs and does have a boomy overrun but it really is nothing like the M3 in terms of noise - maybe aftermarket exhaust would sort that.

Red isn't my colour but it did look nice:

Dunc
Not had the balls to turn my traction control off yet LOL.
Still running in 500miles to go
How many miles did the rancid red one have on the clock ???
Mine is plenty quick enough in run-in mode in fact the acceleration is just scary, from what i've read when it goes in for its run in service they change the oil, diff oil and flash the ECU which gives it full power and adds launch control - maybe some sort of remap.
I was a bit concerned about the exhaust note but it seems to be growing on me.
The guys at work have said "its not as loud as the RS but by god it sounds seriously bad ass".
Will post some more pics and hopefully a few vids / just a bit busy at the mo sorting a new driveway.
The Mrs didn't take to kindly to having the mini parked on the road LOL
Gone but not forgotten boohoo !!!

Hi Roy,

It had a little over 3000 miles on it - its a very fast car and the tech with HUD etc is excellent. I really liked it and it is a weapon as the Ring taxis can show but overall I don't think the M5 is for me - mostly its just a class in size too big for me - plus the exhaust note was disappointing - might sound minor but after the RS4 and M3 that would bug me - but then you think it might be better on later cars?

The biggest attraction is that BMW is offering 0% on all M cars until 30th June which is simply an amazing deal.

Post how it feels once you are run in - its ballistic.

Seriously tempted.

Have u got a manual or DCT?

Do the M V8's sound as good as RS with a zorst MoD?

A guy near me has a white V8 M3 with a Zorst on - sounds frekin loud, it
Spits barks and pops when he goes past
Think Daz has an Aftermarket Zorst on his M3.

Hi Dave,

Yes I have DCT - it is an amazing gearbox and I would not want a manual on the M3, not withstanding I think it would be hard to shift onwards a manual on an e92.

there is a 'backbox' mod that a lot of guys are doing as it is about 300 quid, whereas Akros are 3k... sounds good:

M3 sounds different to the RS - RS is more V8 thunder - the M3 is more racecar - at 4k it sounds great and screams to 8k - it is different - it is too quiet as standard though imo.

Dave I've got an M3 for the day next week ill shoot you a text to let you know what I think. To you guys who went M5 did the dealer give you an extended test drive? My x5 is in for recall work so I asked the dealer to give me an M3 for the day as I'm interested. Just wondering how long your 'test drives' were
